All these new posts / email

Body:

Fear not everyone. We haven't been hacked. There are a lot of Recent Posts listed, without new comments, that are really old posts. I have just moved them from the Housekeeping Forum to a more appropriate Forum for their subject content, and somehow they came up as Recent Posts. Sorry for the confusion.

While on the subject of housekeeping, we seem to have lost our email contact Tabs in our profiles. Can any of you see a link on your screen to contact another Member? Or are you having the same problem?

Lanny knows about this and will get the Contact tab reinstated as soon as he can. In the meantime, if you want to contact another Member please email me, froginthespa at yahoo dot com, and tell me who you want to contact. I do have access to everyone's email via my Admin rights. I will contact the Member concerned and ask if I can forward your email to her. If the answer is no, then that's that.

If you receive an email request like this you can decide if you want me to forward the requestor's email to you, or not. I will I will happily comply with your wishes.

hi louise
I can't see the contact tabs anymore either
thanks for offering to serve as the go-between for contacting members. we can always count on you : )

same here.

Any chance everyone's preferences (to be contacted) defaulted to "no" after the upgrade?

They seemed to disappear with the upgrade. Lanny will get them back, but can't do it just at the moment. I have posted about it in the Housekeeping Forum. There was never any intention on WW's behalf to delete them.
We just have to work around it for now, so email me at the above 'address' if you want to contact a member. Being a Forum Administrator I have all the Members' email addresses. I will forward the request for contact to the member in question and give the Members each other's email addresses if both are agreeable. Then you can carry on from there independently of me, once you have exchanged email addresses. This allows the members to agree, or not, to being contacted by personal email.

I live in Australia too. Not sure what it is like in your part of the world, Surviving60, but Australia has been operating with a Privacy Act since 1988, and it would be illegal for me to pass on email addresses without permission, whether they are in Australia or not.

cheers

Louise
