New here...kinda lost!

Body:

Where do I start!?

I've been addressing my health issues (thought I was fairly healthy, not too overweight and just a bit on the lazy side, as much as a mom with 4 toddlers underfoot can me (one is my niece, they are 4, 3.5, 3 and 17 months.)

So I started off knowing I had an obvious chronic constipation issue and migraines....which figured the headaches were either constipation, food or hormonal related.

Then I found out I was dealing with some possible "severe" adrenal fatigue.

Changed my diet for 45 days, no change in anything. (grain free, sugar and fruit free...after no change went to GAPS diet, and seeing some small changes after 3 months. Still going strong...but having headaches with my cycle and constipation still (doing coffee enemas and colonics to help)

Was also told I should do a gallbladder/liver flush....started that last month and probably 1000 stones came out if you counted all the gravel to sand size floating pieces...and about 50 raisin sized stones...

Posture is awful, just call me a big ol slouch.

I ran into some info on diastasis....laid down and tested myself... HUGE issue. 7 finger width gap with pulses at navel and 3" above. Started looking for info to correct it that didn't involve ordering books and DVDs and Started reading about proper alignment and squatting....which led me here from the Katy Says blog.

I had a slight prolapse with my first homebirth (#5) but didn't really get much info to help it. So go that going on too....I feel like I'm falling apart!

any help with where to start? WE are very, very far away from mainstream. We know about all the lies being spread about health in western medicine. We avoid pharmaceuticals at all costs. So, I feel I have a foundation, but when trying to read the posts on the forum, I can't really tell where the place to start is.

Hi mamabear023,
A very warm welcome to you. We're happy you're here. I hope you'll find loads of help, information & support here. Between the many women who visit this site, there's wealth of experience & knowledge.

You've identified a few health issues here. I just wanted to address one issue, which is the 'big ole slouch" issue! Sounds nice & we can kindof get used to that way of being & even see it as a treat. The reality though, is that it's really really bad for our health, women's health in particular perhaps because of our reproductive organs & childbirth experiences. There are many knock on effect of poor posture as well, such as weakening some of the back and abdominal muscles... One of the key elements of the whole woman apporach is a healthy natural posture, which as Christine Kent says is "anything but" for most of us. So most of us have to learn it. It does take time & practice for it to become habitual, but it's not long before you start feeling better & begin to appreciate the benefits. I've been reminding myself to get into WW posture for about 1 1/2 years now, and now if I slouch it actually doesn't feel too good, partly because I know it's bad for me and partly because I physically like the feeling of being in a good posture. There's a lot of information about ww posture on this site & in Christine's dvd's & book. I highly recommend these.
Wishing you all the best on your journey.

Hi mamabear. WWUK has give you some great information to start, and I'd like to add my favorite: Christine's video "Whole Woman 101" on the Theater tab above. Glad to see you on our forum! - Surviving

Oh I realize how bad slouching and poor posture is, which is why I'm here and looking for the info. I really can't do more books right now....so trying to gather information from the net., having trouble finding it on the forum. I see posts referring to WW posture, but I guess you have to buy the book to find out what that is?

I did watch the videos in the Theater, which we informative about the why, but not so much on the what.

Oh I found at the bottom of the FAQ page! Wahoo!

Hey mamabear!
I'm pretty sure you can find a great many bits of information here- and on the youtube channel.
I'm too lazy to look, but you've only got 5 kids right? so you are not busy at all :)
Do you know about the channel?
I'm concerned about this diastasis-I've never seen one that large- 7 fingers is really big. What are you going to do about it? Do you think there is a hernia there?
I think before I did anything else, I'd start addressing that sucker :)
anyway. glad you are here and big hugs for you busy lady.
