When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

Hello energeticmarg
Hi and congratulations on your firebreathing. I am excitedly awaiting the yoga third wheel to better understand that breathing! I know little about the chromium piccolinate except that there is controversy regarding it's use and potential side effects. I wasn't able to quickly access where we might find that naturally.....what foods might contain that? I would be very curious to find out if you couldn't get what you need of that substance through diet instead of pills since so little is known about it's potential. Best wishes to you! Oh---I am not very graceful either but I do know that our balance will definitely improve, along with so much else, from doing these DVDs!

What about your posture, Marg?
What else do you do besides firebreathing? It's great that you are starting to do the workouts, but remember that this is not a mere exercise program but a full-time postural correction. The exercises help that along, same with long purposeful walks in WW posture. The main thing is to be in the correct posture all of your waking hours if you can - not just if/when you remember to. It takes time to form this habit. Months and even years into this work, you will continue to see improvement if you are doing what you should. And I don't just mean prolapse improvement, I'm also talking about hip and spine health and stability. - Surviving

firebreathing question
I am doing the fire breathing exercises but I wonder if someone can tell me if I am doing it correctly? When I breathe in and let my belly drop the cystocele disappears but when I breath out through pursed lips it seems to come out again. If I bring my belly button more straight up it does not seem to protrude but then I feel I am not moving anything forward. Any suggestions? I am only into this two weeks so maybe I am expecting too much too soon? If I squeeze like I am doing Kegel exercises it stops it from coming out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Froggie, are you rounding
Froggie, are you rounding your back and pulling navel to spine as you are breathing out through pursed lips? If you are doing that part, you should feel the organs getting sucked even further forward into the belly and out of the vaginal space. - Surviving

firebreathing
Hi MSNightngale & Surviving 60; I am trying to do the WW posture consistantly altho I do catch myself slipping at times however I am becoming more aware when I do slip. I know I have to be in WW posture all of the time and know by my lower back discomfort by the end of the day then I AM GETTING THERE.......OH MY GOD I was not aware that my posture had been so bad!!!!!!!! As for the tampon I use a playtex sport one regular absorbancy and open the plastic cover as much as I can by squeezing and pouring some KY silk-E in then lubricate my vagina with same before inserting the tampon in. I do this after I have done the firebreathing and my cele has moved back y=up. The tampon usually keeps my cele in place unless I am over tired and having a bad day. A bad day means my cele comes back down some. When this happens I remove the tampon lie down for a while to rest, do firebreathing again and if I need to be upright and active I insert another tampon. I am aware I could get a pessary however because of what I have read in the threads here I would rather avoid that. I am hoping the WW Posture and exercises will help me avoid needing a pessary. At this point my lumbar spine is still somewhat stiff but there has been some improvement...........thanks for your inquiries.........................Marg

rounding in firebreathing
I bend over and place one hand on my bent knee and one just inside vaginal opening. I breathe in and drop my belly and pull my tail bone up. I breathe out through pursed lips bringing in my belly drawing navel to spine and my tail bone tucks in. Maybe I am not to tuck in the tail bone? I don't think I feel any sucking forward. Certainly when I have my tail bone up and out everything is forward. Thanks Surviving

Froggie, it sounds like you
Froggie, it sounds like you have the breathing right, but why don't you just try it with both hands on knees, or maybe down on all fours? Not sure of the purpose of the hand in the vagina. Surviving

I'd recommend not trying to
I'd recommend not trying to "check" your prolapse at the same time as you firebreathe. I'm not much of a checker myself, but I would think that might interfere with good f.b. technique. When we talk about "feeling" the organs being sucked further forward on the exhale, that isn't necessarily the kind of feeling that we're talking about.
You might try doing a little bit of jiggling, as Louise has recommended many times on this site, to kind of get your organs forward into the belly before you start firebreathing. Then the f.b. reinforces that position, and excellent WW posture throughout your day helps train the organs to stay there. It's all part of the work. - Surviving

How to figure out if firebreathing is working
Hi Frog
Yes, Surviving is right. You do need both hands resting on your knees. Otherwise you have to engage your abdominal and back muscles, glutes and quads, which interferes with relaxing your torso and inhaling and exhaling freely with maximum belly movement. It is the movement of the belly that allows movement of the pelvic organs.
Now, you are a woman who understands humour. If you want to see what is happening in your vagina I suggest that you do a party trick. Find something light in weight that is about 1/4inch in diameter, with a rounded end, like one of those very stylish but totally useless promotional pens with the heavy contents removed. Push the round end into your vagina a little way until it stays there with something sticking out in full view. I used a chopstick with a round end. If you were ovulating you would have no chance of getting anything to stay put, but there is plenty of time in the second half of the cycle when the vagina is drier. Only menopause gives us the privilege of having a dry sticky vagina all the time. ;-(
Now firebreathe and watch the angle of the whatsameejigger change as your vagina changes its angle and position. Endless enjoyment can be had from this activity! If you can't see it, try attaching a little bell to tell you it is moving! Or a string that will rise and fall!
Now, if all of us all did it at the same time, we could bomb Facebook with the pictures!
But seriously, figure out a way to see what is happening. POP is the mother of invention.
Louise

Oh, Surviving, I am LMAO right now. Have had company for two weeks, slacked on my WW work and am paying for it now. Am still trying to get Firebreathing down so was searching the site. Came across the above posts. Loved the part where you said: "When we are talking about 'feeling the organs'...", PRICELESS! And then along comes Louise and her chopsticks again...swear I have run across three different posts with Louise and those chopsticks :-) Frog123, I think we are related!
