When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

lubricant
I have been using Ky's Silk-E every night at bedtime. I just rub it into my vagina to get rid of the dryess. This helps. It seems to be mostly vitamin E and Aloe. Good luck to you. Shift your position and wear larger panties so you don't irritate your prolapse.

Uterine Dryness
Yes, I have developed that specific dryness just over the past weeks concurrent with a dose of the flu bringing with it an overactive bladder and coincidentally with the (southern hemisphere) winter’s drying of the hands (probably no connection).
Yes, you are right, it happens for me too when dear old uterus hangs out continuously: that’s when the dryness happens, around her opening I think. When I can get her reasonably tucked inside, the dryness seems to abate somewhat. The first time I used a dab of honey for a couple of days which did help, but also the flu was on the mend. Now, I am having a second bout due to another problem, self imposed this time, duh!
I’m going to do the honey trick right now and get back to you.
I have used vaseline occasionally inside the vulva to good effect, but haven't tried it on the uterus specifically. I am not aware of the objections to vaseline, it's such an age old remedy now at least four generations. I know there was worry in the medical fraternity about its being inhaled by elderly people into the lungs but I don't know any of the details.

Two Hours later?
Dear Daphne
How long has that been? One-Two hours? Went to urinate just a minute ago (yes, TMI). I had to push my uterus back in, and found the dryness gone. I used raw honey this time and just rubbed/spread the honey on gently to the dry spot and around where it was hanging out of the vulva. The raw honey is thicker than the usual supermarket honey I used last time. The supermarket honey was runny. They both worked. I’m thinking the particular bacteria needed is not destroyed in the pasteurizing process.
Still, more tests please ladies.
Best wishes, Fab

Hi Discouraged,
Thank you for your comment. I live in Canada and have never heard of Ky,s silk-E, do you live in a different part of the world? I do have some Aloe though which is a clear gel, so I could try that.
Thanks, Daphne

Re Two Hours
Hi Fab,
I am glad you were able to get relief with the honey. I was promised some raw honey from a neighbour but so far haven't received any. I did go to the Farmers market but they only had it in larger amounts than I wanted as I already have four containers of the store types. My Uterus all comes out of my Vagina and it's the larger part that gets dry, yesterday was a really bad day for me. I had to spend most of it sitting down. My Cervix seems to come down and sit under my Vulva and then the larger part of the Uterus hangs out of the Vagina, this is the part that gets dry. I worry about it getting too dry and splitting which would make things a lot worse.
I do wear this home made garment which helped quite a bit in the first place, to help hold things up a bit but now I am not getting the same effect. I have been waiting months to see another Gyn. but I think the general waiting time to see this particular Dr. is the best part of a year. I have had lots of Pessaries inserted by other Drs.but they all made me incontinent continually so had to have them taken out, but I am hopeful that this Dr. may be the one that can find one that works for me.
Thank you for your reply. Best Wishes, Daphne.

KY
KY Jelly is a popular lubricant, at a drugstore it would be next to the condoms, etc. You can find KY's Silk-E formula on line at Drugstore.com. I live in the Pacific Northwest. It comes in a small plastic container and I keep it by my bedside whereever I go, especially when I go to Canada. I like the CHilcotin wilderness. Good Luck.

Would you be willing to do an experiment? I'm curious if over time you could regain bladder control when using the pessary......

Hi,
I am not sure what sort of experiment you are thinking of but I don't have a bladder problem, just my Uterine prolapse, also I don't use a pessary but I am waiting to see a Gyn. to see if she would be able to fit me with one that works for me.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. Daphne.

Thank you for your information about KY, I will have to look for that, hope they don't think I am looking for Condoms as I am 77!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you said you lived in the Pacific North West my mind immediately thought of sea and waves and sea breezes sand and seagulls and big open spaces. It probably isn't like that but I enjoyed my thought about it anyway.

let me clarify
You said: "I have had lots of Pessaries inserted by other Drs.but they all made me incontinent continually so had to have them taken out, but I am hopeful that this Dr. may be the one that can find one that works for me."
This is very typical. It isn't the pessary that is causing the incontinence, in fact, it's your prolapse that is stopping you from leaking. The urethra has a bit of a kink in it- when you put the pessary in, it straightens out this kink and causes the leaking (as best I can understand it).
I was wondering if you would give the pessary a try, even though it makes you leak urine, and see if over time that leaking would resolve with wholewoman techniques.....

re-let me clarify
Hi Alemama,
Yes, you did understand me right, what I said. The last Dr. I went to put in several pessaries but all made me urinate as soon as I stood up. The last one he tried I didn't leak so he told me to go home and see how it was. I have a 60 mile journey from Dr. to home and by the time I was home I was leaking quite a bit. I had to go to bed that night padded with many towels which I had to keep changing during the night as I just kept leaking all the time. I stuck it out for one more day to see if it would change but it didn't so as the Dr. told me to go back if I needed to I got myself all padded with towels and leg holes out of a blk. garbage bag and went on my way. I had to have a wheel chair to the office as it was a long way from the car park, of course I was completely soaked by the time I got to the Dr. and as I took off all the wrappings I was just leaking all over the floor, feeling very embarrassed. He took the pessary out and it stopped the leaking. Originally I had the same operation that Christine had for the bladder and have been fine with that problem but the after effects of that was not able to have the urge for bowel motion until just recently, 13 years later, and 3 years after the bladder op. was when I started to have the beginnings of the Uterine prolapse. I wish I had been able to find this Forum in the beginning and Then I don't think I would be in this situation. Actually, until I read Christine's book I didn't know that it was the uterus that was showing as no one had told me what it was.
Thank you for your thoughts, the Dr. did tell me that as soon as the pessary was inserted the weight of my Uterus, when I stood up, just flipped the pessary vertical and that is why I leaked all the time. It has been almost a year now since I saw that Dr. and I still haven't received his diagnoses report although I have called many times and even asked my family Dr, to try and get them, to no avail.
I am still trying to be hopeful, Daphne.

Thanks for clarity
Thank you so much Daphne for this full description. It rings so many chords. There is some comfort in shared misery, ha. That must have been the ultimate in embarrassing and frustrating experiences. After four tries, I imagine you would be feeling pretty disgusted. It worried me that you couldn’t ever get your uterus back inside. I wonder if this has anything to do with the operation similar to Christine’s that you had. And yes, the drying effect this would have on the uterus and your concern for splitting of the skin is a real and close fear of my own.
I would try the supermarket honey. It worked the first time for me, although my dryness is not as extensive as yours, and I was able to moisten and return the uterus inside. I’m positive a couple of cups a day of the red clover tea also helped.
I do hope you can get some relief soon, even if from a regular smear of olive oil and once she is lubricated she will more easily return to where she is meant to be, even if just inside the vulva, she will remain more moist and protected. Of course, you know all this and it is finding what will work that is your mission. A year seems a long time to wait for the doc's appointment, this is so often the case having to wait for the best. In the meanwhile good luck.
Best wishes, Fab

re clarity
Thank you Fab for your continued support. I guess I do not always make myself clear. I can move my Uterus back inside but it mostly comes back down again as soon as I stand and walk about. I have just made a change from wearing a panty liner to a small pad which seems a bit more comfortable but of course it doesn't make the Prolapse any better but it is softer to the prolapse to rest on. You mentioned drinking Red clover tea, how would you say it helped your prolapse? I have actually started to use Vaseline which lubricates for the moment but then of course dries off as it rubs again on the pad. I have also used the Honey and also some lubricant, which ever comes to hand first. I hope your problems will keep getting better soon. Do you have Christine's, "First Aid for Prolapse" DVD and if so do you find the exercises help you? All the Best Daphne.

Two to Tango
Could be just as much a dumb kid’s reading to blame for not getting the point than any lack of explaining on your behalf, Daphne. Christine talks about red clover in her article LS report. She says it has been used in the past and currently to treat the symptoms of skin, lung and reproductive disorders and menopause among other things (It’s well worth the read, although being non-scientific I am only slowly getting a grasp on the why and how). At this stage of my learning, if I gave you what I thought was how it worked, I might be just a bit wrong. You know how thorough and many angled Christine's research is. Primarily, she says the health of the vagina, vulva and cervical area are largely dependent upon the microorganisms that colonize these surfaces. So she looks at those things which will ensure that these areas are colonized with beneficial micro organisms and foods that provide these. Christine’s technical research points to it being particularly good for the vulva and I would think by extension the uterus.
I know that while drinking the red clover tea, it makes me more comfortable in the whole vagina area while the honey targets the dry spot. You can probably get red clover in tablet form, (although I am not sure of that). The tea I buy is Bloom’s and it is available from a health food shop, but I am in the southern hemisphere.
Yes, I do have Christine’s book and it is a wonderful help to me to understand and think about the prolapse in a positive, constructive way.
Ah, Christine’s exercises. My main concern at this point of time is keeping the old girl inside. Therefore, I concentrate on posture, walking and stationary bike riding and the two yoga poses; cat and cow. When I try Christine’s exercises, the ones in her book and the First Aid DVD, I make sure that the uterus is well up and then I give it a brief routine. Once the uterus drops I don’t think I am getting the full benefit of the exercise and so stop.
I'm glad you have found the vaseline and honey helping a bit. Yes it does dry up and gets absorbs. I think Christine suggested twice a day for the honey. I must look around for these softer pads you mention. I have been using panty liners.
Best wishes, Fab
