When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

Hi devastated. I would
Hi devastated. I would certainly recommend the book or DVD to you, but if you can't get your hands on any of that right now, there is still more than enough information on this forum and website to get you going on posture. If you aren't doing that, then it's time to start, no excuses! It's what all of this is about. There is no cure for prolapse. There are a number of ways that women deal with it, of which this is by far the safest, most effective, and most "livable". In fact it is more than that, it is empowering and life-changing! What more can you do for yourself?
I don't think rectocele itself is a factor in the size of your stool. But you do need to get your elimination under control and it sounds like you are on your way. Good luck and I wish I had more specific answers to your questions. - Surviving

lumps and bumps and rectocele
Hi devastated,
Welcome. I'm not sure about stoll size and rectocele either. Neither do I know anything about little bumps on your rectocele. So not much use on those scores!
However, I'm not sure what you may/may not be worried about re the little bumps. If you are at all worried it might signify something worse, then I really think it would be worth being checked/tested by your GP/specialist. I doubt it is something to be worried about, but if you have any doubts, then probalby best to put your mind at rest and get it tested/looked at for a proper medical diagnosis. If it isn't anything to worry about, then I would do just that - not worry about it!
Otherwise I think whether or not you have little/large, soft/hard stools is more to do with diet thatn sanything else. Make sure you have an anti-constipation diet which is as healthy as you can possibly make it. Personally I find eating stewed fruit most days keeps my BM moving - sometimes a bit too effectively! Experiemnt with differnt foods, look around on this lovely website for a host of suggestions via previous posts and blogs. for further suggestions.
Also - focus on love, relaxation and happiness! I think for all of us with proalpses it can sometimes be a tough road to recovery and feeling ok. However in the grand scheme of things, it could be worse. With the aid of the WW apporach prolapse is something that can be managed and often improved. Prolapse issues really is a pointer that all was not right in our world - and part of this work is to ask what else can we do to feel happier and better.
Wishing you all the best, xwholewomanuk

Bumps a worry
Dear devastated
Can’t help you with the bumps. Need someone to look at them.
Again, I agree it would not be because of your rectocele that the stools are large. Stools are large in most cases because they have accumulated over a few days and have compressed. This means to avoid large uncomfortable stools you would need to eliminate more frequently. This is a matter of training yourself to better regularity. Nominate a defecation time preferably soon after a meal, usually breakfast, but after each meal if practicable, relax and do not strain. Make sure that you really finish. Eating stimulates the need to defecate. So if you snack on the way home and this stimulation occurs and you are unable to act on it, this will only compound your problem. Keep stools small, knock off the indigestible fibre, as it enlarges stools. This is very important as you have a rectocele and this means the muscles are more lax and lack the sensitivity of a young rectum, so that the urge to go is not as strong and the large stools are pushing on your prolapse.
If you find you really can't go consider a glycerine suppository. Hopefully, as you improve, the need for one will be only occasional.
Have a look at your consumption of artificial sweeteners, lactose, gluten etc. They can cause gas and its passing can be as difficult as a stool.
I recall that you were trying to wean back off laxatives, stool softeners etc. This will take time, but I encourage you to persevere. If you have, like many of us, eliminated fat and salt from your diet, you might consider reintroducing them as they are needed to be able to go without straining.

I wonder if anyone can help me as I'm really worried . On examining my prolapse ( unsure what type I have ) I noticed a few tiny lumps and bumps right at the top of my vagina . Think it might be called the anterior wall . Haven't a clue what they could be and my imagination is doing overtime . Sometimes it seems I can push them inside but they usually come out again . Would be grateful to hear if anyone has had expierience of this . I had wondered if it could be rugae but feel they are too small for that and have also heard that it disappears with age and as I am almost seventy I don't see as it could be that . I have had five vaginal births in the past in case it could be anything to do with that . I am so tired of worrying about it .

If these lumps and bumps are that tiny, I doubt they are anything other than just natural changes in the tissues that occur over time. But I'm not an expert in this area and I personally don't poke around that much to know what exactly my anterior wall feels like. Of course, as we talk about all the time, some raw honey every day or so really feeds the post-menopausal vaginal tissue, helping to keep it healthy and comfortable. So if you aren't doing that, you might consider it. If you're truly worried about this, you can have a doctor check you out. But I think it's best if you just manage your prolapse with posture and not obsess over the look and feel. - Surviving

Hello Surviving 60 . I have actually rang our doctor and spoke to the triage nurse and she has managed to fit me in to see a doctor this afternoon . Will let you know the result . Thanks for your advice . I have issues with anxiety because of something that once happened to me . You are right though because each time you look you seem to find something to worry about . At least I do . Have been using honey for quite some time now and find it very helpful . I do appreciate the help that is on this site and often look in .

Well I saw the doctor . She was a new one that I haven't seen before and was lovely and quite happy to listen to my concerns . After examining me she said she thinks it's just part of my prolapse and nothing to worry about but to be on the safe side I have to go back next week for swabs to be taken because of the irritation I feel .

Just a thought ? Does anyone know if using the honey could give a false swab result ?
