Which DVD was it?

Body:

There was a DVD that had a series of exercises that were somewhat dance oriented. It had moves that seems to be ballet related. I'm overweight and struggling to find a good routine for exercise but everything I think I'll start I then have to reconsider because it may exacerbate my prolapse. I would like to purchase this DVD.

Also I have another question. Very personal so please forgive the nature of the question but I am looking for others' experience with this whole ordeal. When my husband and I are intimate sometimes it feels as if my bowels are being stimulated with the movement and it requires that I stop and go to the bathroom to move my bowels. Even if I didn't really 'feel' like I had to go, I have to go then because it feels as if he's moving it around when he moves. It's a real mood killer. Does anyone else experience this?

Dear Camey82

I think you are talking about the First Aid for Prolapse DVD.

As to the bowel question, I think in this case it would be very important for you to concentrate on having regular bowel movements so that their time of arrival becomes somewhat predictable. I have heard about this before and I think the ladies mentioning it had rectocele. You could try looking through the site via the search box at the top of the page for further information.

Does anyone know how many minutes the workout portion of this DVD is and how "intense" it is. Will it get my heart rate up at all? I'm looking for something safe, but with some "umph" because I need to lose some weight.

The best and only way to lose weight is to cut down on calories. Yes, I'm with you on multi-tasking.

Hi Camey82,
I can relate to the weight loss issue you talk about. I do the FAFP DVD every day, it takes about 25min for the main part, and more if you complete the dancing part.
I don't find it gets the heart rate up enough for weight loss.
Cycling on a stationary bike can help with this, and I find swimming laps at full pelt pretty good for getting the heart rate up.
That said, I have been doing my laps for sometime and lately I have not been winning the battle against the kilos..... It really comes down to what I put in my mouth...... I have been telling myself this for some months, but have just been lacking the will power to carry it through.
Today was day 1, of really living up to that knowledge.
I will stay with it this time as I have had enough of the extras kilos.
Like you, I would love to do some serious exercise ,but managing my prolapse is even more important.
Hope my words are of some help.

If you are just starting out here, and trying to combine weight loss with learning WW posture, I would agree that the way to go for now is to cut calories, take long posture walks, and stick with WW workouts for awhile. They are more strenuous than they look…in part because you are doing the moves while simultaneously learning an entirely new and unfamiliar body position. You don’t need the hard cardio-type stuff right now. You can get the same benefits without the danger of doing your prolapse more harm than good. You need to learn and understand these principles, and train your body until it’s second nature. Then you’ll be in a better position to judge if something you want to do is going to help or hurt your prolapse. I’m post-meno and I’m realizing that I need to work my heart rate a little more than I have been. I can find ways to do this because I’ve been practicing posture long enough to know how to make small adjustments to protect my lumbar curve. With time and practice, you can even run. But only if you've given yourself time to learn to do these things safely. - Surviving
