Fire Breathing help

Body:

I live in Australia and I have ordered the Whole woman book which is on back order.... Could someone explain what fire breathing is so I can start doing it. I have begun posture and felt improvements.
Thankyou

Sorry to hear your book is on back order. From what I understand, this should hopefully be resolved within a couple of weeks. Meantime, here is what I would suggest:

I personally did not try to get into full-blown firebreathing right away. I started that after I had had the book for quite some time. I guess I was afraid of doing it wrong. You may find some descriptions of it if you search this forum. I'm not going to give you one right here and now. What I would suggest instead is that you go to Christine's blog and read the article about the New Kegels. At the bottom of this article, there is a link to a New Kegels page.

Read the blog post, watch the video, and then read the notes that run down the right-hand side of the New Kegels page. This is basically how the breathing works. The New Kegel is really just a mini version of firebreathing. The breathing sequence is the most important thing:

On the in-breath, push your lower belly as far over your thighs as possible.
On the out-breath, rock your pelvis all the way back without collapsing your upper body posture.

This will give you the concepts, and plenty to work on for now. Good luck with it. It works! - Surviving

PS: In this video, when you see Christine dressed in yellow bending forward with her hands on her knees (or on hands and knees) - these are the "traditional" poses for firebreathing. But you can do little firebreaths in any position, as the video shows.

I am appreciating the feedback on this forum.

Hi staying positive,
Just to say the cakra 3 dvd demonstrates fire breathing and it's also included on the 1st aid to prolapse dvd (which is an excellent introduction to the WW work).
