excercise

Body:

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. 47yrs old, I was told I have uterine prolapse 10 days ago. I have already ordered the all inclusive bundle and I can't wait till it arrives. my question is I'm a very active person, I work out 5 times a week mainly cardio (step aerobics) which includes alot of jumping and strength training with 3lb weights, also a bollywood dance class, Is this too much? and is it making my prolapse worse? should I stop doing this for a while? Please give me some suggestions.

Thanks

Jeet, it sounds like you are doing a lot of very vigorous workouts each week. Often women who have very rigorous exercise need to gear down a bit with their exercise program so that they can mindfully teach their body this new posture, and learn how to control their movement, before upping the anti again.

In the longer term you will be able to jump and run and dance at will, but many of us find that it is OK to do it for a while, but for long periods of time, and repeatedly every day, puts a lot of intraabdominal pressure to work. Like a tree that gets a tiny root into a tiny crack in a rock can eventually split a large rock in two, repeatedly high intraabdominal pressure generated by vigorous movement will insidiously undo your careful organ repositioning. You might find that having rest days when you can feel your symptoms reappearing, is the way to go - just letting your body recover itself.
