When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

honey and vinegar
Marric, have you tried to use the honey/vinegar as Christine describes it? As of your posting you had not tried putting the honey high up, and you had not tried the viinegar at all. Let us know if that makes any difference. I'm assuming you have totally ruled out any kind of UTI, and that you are certain you are emptying completely? This can become something of a vicious cycle if you aren't, so get down on hands and knees in the shower if necessary. You can also use the search box to look for posts on burning. - Surviving

Thanks Maman
Marric, I've just now read a new post by Bonne Maman on another thread, mentioning the possibility of pee being left behind in the urethra. Please make absolutely sure you are emptying completely....I think sometimes it's hard to tell this is happening until you experiment with ways of getting more out. Posture is vital of course, to keep all the organs lined up properly and working as they should. - Surviving

If you can, drink lots of real juice of cranberries, not the punch type, I did experience a lot of help with the juice, or dried cranberries when I had the burning sensation years ago just before my menopause. At the time I had not discovered this wonderful site and the knowledge of Christine, now I use Manuka honey once a week. Keep always emptying your bladder fully as Mrs. Surviving said.

Burning Vulva
Ladies –
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I have ruled out UTI and I am faithful about emptying my bladder completely. I spent countless hours on this website reading about vulva burning and the sensation of having to pee. I think the dryness, vulva burning, and overactive bladder are all related as I seem to get all of the symptoms simultaneously. I am trying to stay in posture as much as possible. Last night and twice today I used the honey high up in my vagina and noticed a small improvement; however I can’t imagine going more than six hours without re-applying the honey. Several months back I had used the honey for dryness and it seemed to work beautifully. These days it does not seem to be as effective. I purchased the vinegar today and will apply tonight. The DVD says the vinegar can be used as often as the honey, so for me that means three times per day. This really sounds like a lot compared to Christine’s every 48 hours and Solita’s only once a week. I will try the cranberry juice suggestion. Anything at this point is worth a try. I will let you know how the vinegar application goes (yikes, I can feel it burning just thinking about applying it!).

Kal brand D-Mannose Powder
Is an excellent dietary supplement powder for urinary tract health. I drink a glass of it almost every day ( one heaping tablespoon with small glass of water). It has no taste and is just like a slightly sweet sugar water. I have bladder and uterine prolapse and sometimes my ureter gets a bit kinked and I end up with the burning, inflammation, frequent need to urinate, etc. D-Mannose will relieve my symptoms within a few hours. I also use it to prevent urinary tract infection since I'm probably more prone to them due to my prolapse and the possibility that I haven't emptied my bladder sufficiently. The only downer about using this supplement is that it's expensive ( it's safe and cheaper than medications though). I've found that it's not necessary to drink it every day when I'm symptom-free which helps cut the cost and lately, I've been able to keep a bottle/month. You can also purchase D-Mannose in capsules with Cranberry extract but I like the powder best and I drink ' Just Cranberry' ( very tart!) by Knudsen company.
I found that the soap I was using was causing a lot of burning as well and I switched to Alaffia Every Day Shea body wash - both the unscented and the vanilla mint and I had such great results that I won't use anything else near my vagina. Since then, I've not needed to moisturize at all. Before the soap switch, I was applying a bit of estrogen cream that I got from the health food store ( Dr. Northrup suggested it) but I didn't find that it helped. Then again, I really didn't use it for very long.
Cheers to good health!

Burning vulva
You may have interstitial cystitis ( see ichelp.com) in addition to pop. An IC bladder is highly sensitive to vinegar. I use Desert Harvest Aloe Vera Gele to relieve burning vulva . Don't use regular aloe Vera because the impurities burn an IC bladder which btw doesn't get UTIs.

Parabens
I have LS and one thing that I think has helped my burning is eliminating parabens. They are chemicals that are put in lotions, makeup, and even food and vitamin supplements, to preserve those items. I was using a lotion on my body that contained methylparaben and propylparaben. The burning is better now that I am not using that lotion.

I also have LS and the burning and dryness is totally gone since I discovered Christine's research !! I started healing So fast it was like a dream ..... You can look at my post! I take Red Clover capsules of the NOW brand and I prepare the red clover balm, I use Manuka honey once a week and I do not have the burning, itching, the hard white patches of shiny skin that hurt so much with the deep crevices that never healed. I feel like new and I am 71 years old, the atrophy of my area has stopped developing and provably will not reverse the damage that I have.... but the pain is gone! Red Clover is a miracle plant to me! I will keep my eyes open for the parabens, in what items do you find them? Thank you for your advise! All knowledge to help each other is a gift ! Thank you!

Parabens and red clover
Thanks for telling me about the red clover capsules and balm and honey. I will try them. Are they on the DVD? I have purchased it, but have only watched the first 15 min of it. If not, could you tell me how to prepare the red clover balm and how to use the honey. Does it have to be Manuka honey? I have some local honey. Could I use that?
Parabens are in some shampoos, deordorants, lotions, makeup, personal lubricants, sunscreens, toothpastes, some food and supplements. You have to read all the ingredients. The word will probably end with paraben, like methylparaben. I was using a body lotion with parabens in it on large areas of my body regularly and had been doing that for several years. I try to look at the products I use a lot or a lot of, to be sure they don't have parabens in them. Parabens are a preservative against bacteria and fungus and that is why they are put in things, but they also mimic estrogen, which may be why they affected my LS.
Thanks again for the helpful information. We can help each other through our experiences, good and bad.

There is a video on the Resources tab of this website (look for Christine's Living Arts) showing how to mix up a batch of the red clover salve. Honey is covered in the DVD that you have. I can't recall Christine ever saying it has to be Manuka or any other specific type, but raw and local is best. - Surviving

Hello Stretchen
Surviving is right! It does not need to be Manuka Honey at all! But I buy Manuka because it works well on insect bites and cuts too, it is handy on my first response kit and taste great, any local honey works. I am following Christine advise from the DVD and also keeping the advise of elimination foods for autoimmune diseases, it is called AIP (auto immune protocol) it is wonderfully explained at the blog of The Paleomom, she invites authors of books to give advise and one of them shared in PDF the list of foods to eat and foods to avoid, it is a great help to have the clear printed in your kitchen or with you when you go shopping .
Christine's research study is here in a separate section on the left side of the home page, please do read it and keep it! It is my treasure!
I also have vitiligo on my body and that postponed the diagnosis of the Lichen! Both produce white patches on the skin and both are of autoimmune origin That idea might change with more research. If you read my posts I did write how I prepare the red clover balm it is easy and also Louiseds has another recipe that is also easy, it depends how you are able to buy the red clover, I buy capsules and the red clover is inside in powder form, Louiseds she buys the red clover in a tincture that is a liquid form and very easy to prepare and Christine buys it in dry leafs and flowers of the plant, which ever way you prepare it, it helps.
I am taking daily 9 capsules of Red Clover of the NOW brand, 3 with breakfast, 3 with lunch and 3 with dinner and I am growing plants in my patio.
I will like to dehydrate the plants to be able to prepare the balm like Christine does, my blam is easier to prepare, but it stain badly my underwear, and I love to garden anyway ..... So far the plants are growing well. I read in the web that it is better to harvest and dry the plants before they produce the flowers, I will have to find that article to make sure it is the right advise, I found the seeds at www.veseys.com ( you have to buy the seeds in your country and I live in Canada and Veseys is Canadian ) they sell them for sprouting but I did plant them outside with wonderful results.
All my best to you!! Take care of your diet following the autoimmune protocol.

Stretchen I will like to remind you
Stretchen I will like to remind you that I read also that Red Clover should not be used if you have fibroids or are not post menopausal, I am 71 years old and I will recommend you to study as much as possible the benefits and contra indications of this plant. You can google and read each entry.
Good luck to you!

Thank you Stretchen
From what I have deduced, I too have LS and have been having a terrible time with it as of late. I JUST read your comment about the parabens and went to check my newly purchased lotion and both methylparaben and propylparaben are in them. And the time of the purchase of this lotion, completely coincides with the onset of increased burning and itching. Thank you for posting your experience here. I am glad I came on today and read it. The women here are the best!

Hi Solita
Thank you for posting this information. I am interested in finding the AIP list of foods to avoid. I looked under "Blogs" in this website and put in "The Paleomon", "AIP, and "Auto immune Protocol" in the search box but came up with "no results found." Would you mind helping me to find this information?

Try www.thepaleomom.com
The AIP might be a bit different from Christine's anti-inflammatory guidelines which are on her DVD. But both will be useful for you. You might not have to go quite to the extremes of the AIP.

Which DVD?
I have Christine's DVD "First Aid for Prolapse" and her book "Saving the Whole Woman." Can I find any information on LS in there, specifically a list of foods to avoid?

The DVD Louise is referring
The DVD Louise is referring to is Christine's latest one, Vulvo-vaginal health. But if you are looking for information about the Auto Immune Protocol, just search the internet. I am not too familiar with this but did not have any trouble Googling it. - Surviving

Hi Solita
Does post menopausal mean you are completely done with your period? Or does it also mean the time when we start to skip? I have been on and off, mostly off, for three years now. I find that the Red Clover tea helps with the itching and burning and I am going to try the capsules, but I wanted to make sure that I understand the whole post menopausal thing first. Thanks.

Red Clover Capsules
Hi Solita,
How many mg (or however it is measured) do you take daily for your LS?

Post-meno
LLL, you are definitely not post-meno if you are still getting periods, however irregular they may be. Post-meno is considered to be when it has been an entire year since your last period. Of course, it's possible during this process to go an entire year, then find out you still aren't done with periods. I think that's fairly rare though. - Surviving

What about Red Clover
Thank you for your response Surviving. I find that the Red Clover tea helps me. Should I not be taking it if I am not post-meno? I was also just looking into getting the Red Clover capsules to see if that helps even further.

There was an excellent thread
There was an excellent thread on red clover, type in red clover, and you should be able to find it.
I think it was Louise or Christine that talked about it being beneficial both pre and post menopausal because it took the place of estrogen receptors in both cases. Can't remember it exactly, but look it up. Very interesting.

red clover
Hi LLL
Red clover won't cure LS. It is part of the raft of anti-inflammation measures you can take to reduce inflammation in your body.
I take Promensil because I can't find red clover tea in bulk in Australia that is what I consider good enough quality. I have been taking red clover for several years now, since before menopause four years ago. 1 x 40gm tablet of Promensil every day, as prescribed on the packet, and am not keen to drop it yet. You can also get 80mg tablets.
As it has such weak oestrogenic activity I am not worried about it causing oestrogen induced cancers, but that's my attitude. Don't take it as gospel. BTW, I have no family history of gyn or breast cancer.
The details of how red clover works are on the DVD, The Whole Woman Way to Vulval Vaginal Health.
