2nd pregnancy questions

Body:

Hi ladies,

Its been a long while since I've been to the site and I'm happy to say that after my daughter was born (2.5 years ago), my prolapse symptoms gradually improved for the following 7-8 months thanks to the WW posture and Yoga DVD exercises! I'm now pregnant again, 13 weeks along and have recently started having some familiar prolapse symptoms. General heaviness, some pelvic aching and the strangest is with difficulty urinating. I have several instances where I feel a strong urge to urinate, but when I sit to go, I have a very hard time relaxing to release urine. After a few minutes, I can usually get a very small flow going, but I rarely feel that I have fully emptied my bladder afterwards. I mentioned it to my midwife at my appointment this week and she said that it could be the weight of the uterus pushing on by bladder, and that she thinks things may shift soon when my uterus come above the pelvic bone. In the meantime, have any of you experienced this in pregnancies after prolapse? Any suggestions for managing symptoms during second and third trimester? I have re-read many posts about pregnancies post POP, but haven't seen this particular symptoms mentioned. Thanks so much.

EB, you do need to make sure you are emptying completely at least once a day. If you get down on all fours in the shower and relax and let everything hang down, you might tip your bladder into a better position for getting everything out. You may have to get up and down again a number of times. Another member, "stillkickin", wrote a great post just the other day about this:
