Body Virbration Machines

Does anyone know if these machines are good for someone with a prolapse, and if so are there any types better than others. i have heard very good things about these machines but nothing for anyone with a prolapse.
thank you

Forum:

I wasn't familiar with these, so I went on YouTube. My opinion is, if you are going to jiggle your organs that way, you'd best be in excellent WW posture. You'd be better off bending forward and letting your organs jiggle into your belly, something we talk about often here. Do you practice WW posture? - Surviving

I also had to look it up. Reminds me of those old vibrating machines that Dr. Kellogg used in the 1880s on people to vibrate the fat away. I also looked at the wki definition: good for circulation, muscles, bones, and joints. Used by astronauts. Ya, well I'm not really sold on the idea. It did say at the end that if you are using it to lose weight you should be on a proper diet also, but isn't that the case with every kind of exercise?

As to doing that having prolapse, even in posture, made me cringe a bit. Call me old fashioned, but I'd rather just take a nice walk or do some whole woman yoga.

Thank you for your comments, i thought i might go down to the gym and give it a trial and see how it goes, i should know if makes any difference after a trial. yes i do try to use the WW posture, and do well when sitting but have issues when i get tried.

Whilst "wobble-machines" that "tone you up" without you having to make any real effort seem to be all the rage these days, I personally would recommend to stay well clear of them. There are no long-term studies yet in terms of risk to the body by vibrating its tissues in ways that would never occur in nature. I already had pelvic symptoms a few years go, though at the time endometriosis was the problem under consideration and I went through a phase in summer 2009 of experiencing excruciating pelvic pain during orgasm (yes, orgasm, not intercourse!).

Funnily these completely disappeared following a Reiki treatment where the practitioner, with her hands half a meter away from my body, was treating my lower belly and I suddenly felt like a dome-shaped structure inside released and lifted and I got very emotional. Sadly not everybody is such an amazing healer and this lady no longer practices.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that, whilst I was in this phase of experiencing pain during orgasm, I was looking at gyms and one gave me a demo of their "Power-plates", I stood on there, they switched it on and I felt like my womb was being ripped out there and then!!! I have a good posture and my knees were bent, my bottom stuck out backwards and I was ready to balance myself like you do on a moving bus, and yet, I could feel my pelvic ligaments tearing, having previously had no idea where they even were.

That experience was enough to convince me that these things are bad, bad news...

If you want to work with balance, try a mechanical wobble-board (basically a platform facing up and round underneath) you can stand of that, assume WW posture, do woman friendly Yoga, close your eyes etc. This may be good for body-awareness generally.
