My next step with the Whole Woman products.

Body:

I have Christine's original DVD and book. I am doing those exercises currently. I am wondering if the new program, Prolapse Free, adds enough new information to make it worth the purchase. And does this new program cover the main points in the hip program as well? I have had wonderful success with the current program that I'm using. Those exercises have given me the core strength to hold the Whole Woman posture. I love the feel of it and the LOOK of it!

Hi rings - I'm going to give you my thoughts on the subject. Others may think differently.

The new Prolapse-Free program is quite awesome and every devoted follower of Christine's work will want to get it. There is some new stuff including an exercise routine with some great new moves. There is also some additional research on the historical context of women's health care (and health care in general) that is, in my opinion, vital for women to understand when they are making decisions about their own well-being and care.

That being said, the program was designed initially with a focus on having something that women could purchase and begin streaming immediately, especially in those far corners of the globe where shipping was going to be a longgggg process. So there is a certain amount of necessary overlap with information that is given in the book and other DVDs.

The Hips Program is not included, so I would definitely recommend getting that. All the WW work promotes heathy hips, that goes without saying, but for understanding and targeting hip issues, this set is a must.

You are also missing out on a gold mine if you have not started collecting the Yoga works. The workouts are wonderfully smooth and low-impact yet extremely effective in working the body parts needed to get full benefit of the posture. In addition, each one contains a second section which focuses on aspects of health and well-being that are just as vital to our lives as is the posture work itself.

So - if you are interested in the Hips work, that might be your next purchase. After that, either start on yoga or go for the Prolapse-Free program. When i was starting out, I could only afford to acquire one item at a time over an extended period. Shipping was not a problem for me and the Prolapse-Free work did not exist. Not sure what I would do today....so much stuff, all of it worth its weight in gold. - Surviving

I agree completely with everything surviving has said above. If you are doing well, getting a good understanding of the concepts of whole woman and applying that, then you are really on your way.
When I first started, I was a little frustrated with the first aid for prolapse, because of the ballet base of some of the exercises, but I have gotten used to it, and just love it now. My main reason for getting the rest of the DVDs is that I really wanted variety in my workouts, and they all add a little extra something to the mix. I wouldn't be without any of them, but that's just me. Everyone has their preferences on how they want to go about this. There is no wrong way as long as posture is the goal and end result. Can't say enough, wonderful stuff!

Thanks so much for your helpful and supportive comments. I will continue my work with the hips program and then begin the Yoga. I'll move on to Prolapse Free after that. So helpful....many thanks to both of you!

Dear creativerings,
I read that you are doing the Hips program, so I can comment on how effective it is for me, also.
I was learning the other DVDs slowly.
Due to my hip issues, when I got the Hips program, I started doing that regularly, with great results.
I have learned the First wheel which further works the body in full human extension, & has helped along with the Hips DVD to heal my body, lengthen & build muscle layers, and develop flexibility.
The Hips DVD, is the foundation I now work from.
I am going to work my way through all the DVDs as I like variety, and they are all so beneficial.
I also would like to dance, run, and jump...
The Prolapse Free course has taken me to a deeper level of understanding, with a sound foundation of interesting and practical knowledge to work with, along with getting to know Christine more deeply.
My body continues to transform and the quality of my life now reflects that.
Many many thanks, Christine!
So glad that you are enjoying the benefits of WW,
In our journey together,
Best Wishes,
Aussie Soul Sister

I am grateful for the information shared on the new PF program. I have been considering this program and wondered if the yoga series was also apart of the program.

The yoga series are on DVDs that you can find in the whole woman store. You can look there to see which you like or want to start with. Most people like to start with the First Aid For Prolapse which is not yoga based, but has very good exercise and lots of information to get you started into whole woman. I actually also have all the yoga DVDs. Each is a little different from the next, but all are a great resource and have wonderful yoga movement in the whole woman way. Learning posture is the key here and the exercises Christine has developed help us to strengthen muscles that help us hold the posture very well.
The prolapse Free program also has a exercise module, not yoga based, along with several other very informative modules to help us better understand whole woman and what our bodies have gone through with prolapse. Especially wonderful for people that cannot access the other materials as readily. And, don't forget Christine's books. These have the most comprehensive information you will ever find anywhere else.

I just want to add that the exercise program on "Destination Prolapse-Free" is the mat program that Christine does daily herself, and does contain many of the tried-and-true moves that can be found in various other DVDs, including the WW Yoga series. These are combined with some new and very effective moves that she has developed since then. - Surviving

Yes, it really is all inclusive isn't it!! Had my mind on the jumping! Lol!

OK, i did the jumping thing last night for the first time. Wow! Felt great both during and after; what was I waiting for? Well, I guess for my knee to get better, which thankfully it has.

This truly is a great move but PLEASE observe the warnings. Jumping is not for pregnant or post partum or post hyst. If you have bad feet you will need to take measures to keep your toes spaced and use your judgment. I did my jumping barefoot on a carpeted surface.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL - You have to be in excellent posture with a nice relaxed belly to hold those organs as you jump. I still consider jumping something of an advanced move on the spectrum of WW exercises, for the simple reason that if you haven't yet grasped the posture, you'll be "jumping" those organs right into your vagina!

Happy to have joined the ranks of the jumpers! - Surviving

Agree surviving,
It really is a different motion than anything else I have done so far with whole woman, and it wouldn't have felt comfortable at all just doing it without knowing I had the posture nailed down. And, I love how Christine works up to it with the firebreathing and belly tosses, really getting you ready for the actual jumping. Great stuff!

AG, can you do the belly toss? I am trying to learn it, but just don't have the motion down yet. I'm trying to do it by gradually speeding up my firebreathing. Don't know if that's the best approach or not. - Surviving

It kind of reminds me of the belly pumps that Christine does in her firebreathing sequence in her other DVDs, but of course, you are not holding the outbreath! Lol! I actually find them easier than the nali and belly pumps. I know the 3rd wheel has those same quick in and out breaths with some of the exercises. It's like I can really feel my organs being pumped or tossed into my lower belly. Great feeling!

Yeah - I never did add nauli to my toolbox, despite a live demo at the first conference in 2012, and subsequent study of WWY3. I think I'll get the belly toss though. Firebreathing was awkward at the beginning too. I can certainly do the move at a superficial level (i.e., if you were watching me you'd swear I was doing it) but it's all in the breathing.....

Dear Surviving, you mentioned that you have been dealing with rectocele and you have been practicing the WWP for four years. You also mentioned, that you still experience improvement. I would like to ask if your rectocele have been improving too, or only your cystocele. Do you also have your rectocele at the vaginal opening (where mine is)? Please forget me being so impolite to ask so detailed information.
I am interrogating you because I read in a thread of Christine that she is not able to tell if a rectocele will be improving or not. (She wrote this in 2011)

Can you post the url to that thread Buda? Just copy and past the address that is in your browser window...

Yes Christine, I start it looking for it now.

Buda found the thread she was talking about, and the discussion is continued here:

First let me say that I've had no formal diagnosis of my prolapse. It sometimes sits at the opening and other times is well inside. I am in posture all the time, but the organs move around all day depending on what I'm doing. I can't always provide the ideal environment for my prolapse so I do the best I can. I continue to see improvements over time, but these are not things I can put my finger on. They are just the result of living more and more in the posture with each passing year, continuing to do the work every day, adding new tricks as quickly as Christine can invent them....!!! I lost all fear of the bulge a long time ago, and it's pretty much a walk in the park once you get past that point and can truly get on with your life. You cease to worry where that bulge might be at any given moment. - Surviving
