More advice

Body:

Hello, well the exercise of bolstering up my shoulders is not prolapse friendly as getting bad symptoms and they were very good after my baby so listening to my body and stopping. I really feel that my awful upper back has a big part to play in my issues, can anyone tell me how soon can I do the first aid for prolapse DVD after baby? I haven't got a batton so would Only do upto the advanced section and also is it the second wheel DVD which does a lot on the shoulders and things? Many thanks

Hi lifegoeson,
Didn't you also say you have the diastasis recti? Not too sure which exercises you should do with that. I could have sworn Christine has a post about which ones were good for it, but can't immediately remember where.
If that wasn't you, then you can start the exercises gently to see how you feel, and I did the advanced workout without the baton for some time, but after I ordered it, it was much better. I still don't use the ankle weights.
The second wheel yoga is made for post partum mothers, and there is a lot of really good stretching in that one.

Here is one I found:

I just typed diastasis recti and exercise in the search box, and it came up with a whole bunch of threads. Hope that helps.

Yeah that is me with diastasis so was wondering what exercises to do that can help both, found a few posts from Christine about shoulder exercises but just wondering if would be ok to go back to the first aid prolapse DVD as well? Thank you for your time in replying much appreciated

That is a great thread that AG located, and a wonderful reminder that excellent WW posture with full extension and a strongly lifted chest is the best thing you can do for DR. I think that Christine's upcoming Goddess Belly program will make this even more clear and take it a step farther. It is quite easy to think that you are in the posture, when in fact, the chest may not be lifted enough, the shoulders not broad enough, to really strengthen the shoulder girdle and really close those "elevator doors". I myself have somewhat rounded shoulders, and in my effort not pull my shoulders too far back, discovered during my posture assessment at the WW conference that there was room for vast improvement in this area. So take it from me. - Surviving

Just wanted to say thanks for the link to the thread and the couple of exercises Christine gave, makes me more determined to try and sort my back, the one to get your palms above your head I can't even get them together!!! That's a workout enough for me and I'm only 29 amazing how much you don't know your body that I've not noticed I cannot use my arms above my head at all. Thanks for your help

Hi lifegoeson04,
Just to remind you that there's also the on-line Destination, Symptom Free Prolapse course available. This has a 10-20' WW exercise program as a bonus to the 5 lectures on a holistic view and treatment of pop.

All the WW exercise/yoga programs would be helpful, but the Wheel of Yoga 2 dvd is identified as good for post partum mums.

Wishing you all the best - and remember 'change the posture, change the prolapse'..
