Mom of 2 -- wants to be 3 -- recently diagnosed stage 2 bladder and 1 uterine prolapse

Body:

Hello wise Mommas and Women of WWVF. I just got back from the doctors expecting to receive a clean bill of health to start TTC for my third and last child. Now I am freaking out because I learned that I have a 2nd stage bladder prolapse, and 1st stage uterine. I am reaching out to you to ask for your positive energy and support. I heard that there are some exercises that I can do and that kegels may not be the best. I don't want to have surgery because I do really want to have one more. I feel very lost and confused. I don't have any family i can talk about because both my maternal mother and grandmother have had hysterectomies.

So sorry you are going through this. What did your OB say about TTC? I had a pretty bad prolapse before I got pregnant with my third. He said once I was pregnant everything would pull up inside as my uterus grew. He was right (at least in MY case and my particular prolapse). I am TTC bio#4, and he has said the same thing. I guess I just want to give you some hope when you're struggling. Other ladies here can give you ideas on exercises.

hi stargirl,

deep breath! it's going to be ok. we've had many young mommies who have successfully delivered multiple babies after prolapse diagnosis. so no worries. but, you need to get educated about the root cause of prolapse and start working on that now. lots of info on the site and store. do a search on posts by alemama and granolamom

Hi Sarah and welcome. Prolapse is a common condition that most of us end up with sooner or later. Please read around the site, blog and forum and realize why you do not want surgery, now or ever. Go to the Blog tab and do a search on kegels to read Christine's articles about why this is not the way to go either (trust me, I'm a poster child for why you should ditch the kegel approach).

WW is much more than an exercise program. You re-train your body to go back to the natural posture that you had as a child, which supports the pelvic organs in the relaxed lower belly. If you've been taught that "good posture" means pulling your abs in tight, well, that's wrong and that's been contributing to prolapse. Many of us have been doing that very thing for decades.

Pregnancy is a great time to discover this work because the natural beautiful shape of a pregnant woman is also the model for the body in its non-pregnant state. Chest up, organs held out in front, nice wide-radius curvature of the lumbar spine.

Many resources and lots of help here. This IS the only way to manage prolapse; there is a lot of misinformation out there. - Surviving

Hello, just wanted to post and say you will grieve, you will think why me and you have to go through it, there is no quick fix but I wanted to say you can do this and I found mine after baby number one, I have all three prolapses and went on to have another baby and I will have another if I am able to that's for sure, prolapse won't put me off. Think pregnancy has little to do with it and when you
Look back you will have had symptoms. Just breath, don't do Kegals!! Just look at Christine's work and get started with posture and enjoy your babies. Take care

You are all so great! Thank you for the quick responses! I felt completely useless as a woman when I found out. Ever since my appointment I have been noticing my leakage more and freaking out about it. I tried the link to the video but it isn't working for me -- Trying to find the links to posture and exercise techniques-- please pass along if you have them!

If you couldn't get that video to play, you might try a different device or browser if you can. Here is a link to a clip from Christine's First Aid for Prolapse dvd, which gives an overview of posture and shows the very first part of the exercise routine:

There is information all over the site, resources tab, blog and forum. Click over to the store because you'll need at minimum, the book and/or basic dvd to get you started. There are no shortcuts to this work; you'll learn and practice it for the rest of your life. The posture itself does become second nature eventually; the deeper you immerse yourself, the sooner that will be. It is a joyful journey with ups and downs like any other worthwhile endeavor. You learn to manage prolapse so that it does not manage you. You stop being afraid and start to love your body again. - Surviving

Hi, I am new here and just wanted to say I am in a simillar situation as you and that I am so happy I found this group. I was completely overwhelmed and emotional about this at first and feel much better knowing there are others that have overcome symptoms without surgery and have gone on to have pregnancies after. I just found out today that my uterus is prolapsed in my rectum and my cervix is lower in my vagina, and I am 8 weeks pregnant so I am trying like yourself to remain clam and positive, I am buying the book and dvd and am trying to start doing this posture because my current posture is terrible. Good luck on your journey and I am here if you ever need to talk.

sorry calm not clam, lol
