Celebrating My 1-yr journey w/WholeWoman

Body:

Just over a yr ago, after my 53rd bday, I accidentally found this website while doing research on my recently diagnosed prolapse. I was devastated yet determined NOT to have surgery for my Cystocele (that my Gyn was recommending) and knew I had to try something.. I ordered the baton, Saving the WW book and FAFP DVD and decided this was the approach I would follow. I had to read the book twice to absorb most of it.. but Christines methods all made sense to me.. I decided I needed a one-on-one meeting so I contacted CarolB in PA, as she was the closest practitioner to me. Although I had considered travelling to Albuq,NM my birthplace, to meet with Christine, my finances decided for me. I would soon find out CarolB was the best thing I could do for my prolapse!
My visit with her very relaxed, she took the time to address ALL my concerns and questions. With her hands-on approach teaching the exercises and posture, I left feeling empowered and ready to experience results of the WW methods. I also felt I had made a new friend in Carol. I have been struggling with prolapse AND menopause and Carol has been VERY supportive. I highly recommend her.
Now 6-mos later, I feel in control of my prolapse, I actually enjoyed my entire summer, gardening and doing volunteer work instead of lying around worrying… I have a routine of exercises I follow and although I still have random days that I tend to over-do things - my prolapse tells me to SLOW DOWN! My focus is now more on ME, my health and my well-being , so I can enjoy life. I am thankful for Christine&Lanny& their support staffers, for having found their website and for all those that share their stories. I encourage new WW members to think positive, follow the WW methods and persevere. WW has to be a commitment for life.. prolapse doesn’t just go away. And Im still sure that surgery will not fix any of this long term.
Thanks for listening.

...for a wonderful inspiring post! I too have met Carol on two occasions over the last 3 years. She knows her stuff and she knows how to get the message across. A great teacher and role model for this work.

Getting on with our lives, losing the fear and regaining the joy is what the WW work is all about. We learn to love and respect our bodies again, and the future starts to look quite different from the way we perceived it when we discovered our prolapse. I'm so glad that you made it to that point in the journey, which only happens if you take matters firmly in your own hands as you did. Thanks for sharing and keep us posted on your continuing progress. It is posts like these that struggling newbies can really relate to and find hope in. - Surviving
