has anyone had just an enterocele?

Body:

I just had a defography and was told I have an enterocele (small intestine prolapse) by the xray tech. I will be seeing the Doctor for a follow up. Before going I would like to know if the exercises and treatment for this would be similar to the one's that are shown on the video's sold at this site and are they helpful for a enterocele?

Surgery is an option that I would like to avoid, even though I believe it is a different surgery from the rectocele….. so has anyone had just an enterocele….and did you have surgery for this and are the complications the same shown on this site for the other surgeries? Were you able to avoid surgery by following the DVD ? Did you use a pessarie? or other alternative methods…and if so what were they?

Thank you ahead of time for responding, Silver Hair

Hi Silver Hair - this article by Christine will answer your questions. Yes, the management of enterocele (which is rare in the absense of prior surgeries) is the same as for any other prolapse: Whole Woman posture. - Surviving

Hi and welcome to the forum. While I don't know anything about enteroceles I wanted to reach out and tell you that this forum has helped me a lot already. I haven't posted much, but I am on here reading everything I can find regarding what I am going through. I have only scratched the surface. If you have not ordered any materials I would like to suggest that you do, but also that you schedule a consult with Christine. There is a search bar here too and you enter the word of your interest and all posts with that word pop up. Well wishes to you, don't give up hope

Hi,
Thank you for your information I will looke up the information and plan on getting one of the video's.
Last August I had a cone biopsy in my cervix, a DNC, and a grape sized benign growth in my uterus removed. Could this have caused the enterocele? Thanks

Most prolapses are a long time in the making, and we have no way of knowing if these procedures had anything to do with it, nor does it matter. I don't think an xray technician is the person to be diagnosing prolapse anyway. Your doctor may or may not give you a more accurate diagnosis, but is still only likely to recommend surgery or just not doing anything at all (neither of which is a good plan for prolapse management). So see what the doctor has to say. The posture work is for EVERY woman, whether or not she even has a prolapse (yet). So check it out! - Surviving
