When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

How great it is that you are
It is great that you are being proactive! I'm so glad that you learned about pelvic health before it became a problem. This way maybe you can PREVENT problems rather than finding a way to live with them as most of the rest of us on this site are trying to do. CONGRATS! I don't have any experience with the Kegelmaster. Like you, have only seen the sites trying to sell it. But, I'm interested in finding out more as I'd like to try it as well if it would help at all and at least not hurt anything.
Once again - I'm SO happy that you knew about pelvic health early on. I sure wish I had!

yep
I tried it before I found this site (BAD CHOICE). It made my urine frequency better but I swear that is what made my rectocele worse!!! I am so mad about it...can you tell? LOL! After doing the posture, my bladder prolapse hasn't gotten worse from stopping the KM. If you have a rectocele I would definitely not try it.

I know of some one who
I know of some one who swears she cured her uterine prolapse twice using one of these things so perhaps there is benefit for some people and not for others depending on the type and severity of prolapse. Perhaps her prolapse would have got better by itself anyway? I wouldn't imagine it does too much damage to uncompromised tissues such as yours Grace. (I am not a mole from kegelmaster honest, and have never tried this myself).

kegelmaster
I'm pretty sure i bought that - And was impressed by the site and all teh testimonials too. Found it really fiddly and uncomfortable and difficult to get out with my urethra/cystecele.
Basically it's just "orgasm and things lift up - voila you've just excercised"... I'm also not that lazy about my prolpase - i do christines tape etc..So i don't just think it was me that didn't suit it so well
I can't see many women sticking with this.. But i do remember being really impressed with the very nice man on the phone.. Kindly voice, listened to my story when it was obsessing me, Thats probabaly why i bought it actually lol
Sorry i can't remember more about it but i'm sure i posted about it at the time.
Best wishes

Kegelmaster
I bought one, but I don't use it. I find it's uncomfortable to get in and out, but I have very sensitive tissues. Neither my PT or OB recommends it, either.

Have you tried "yellow banana"
I tried something like Kegelmaster. It was a blue plastic thing, and you did not insert is into vagina, rather you held it below vagina, outside vagina and squeezed. You could adjust tension on it to make it more difficult. Well, after a few days using this thing my tailbone hurt so badly I could not sit down. I had to stop using it. I threw it out.
The "yellow banana" was recommended by my pelvic floor physiotherapist. It is a rope (which is some cases is yellow or it can be white). The rope is covered in a plastic sheath and it forms a loop. You insert this loop into the vagina and squeeze against the loop. In some ways this loop idea is good because when kegelling you feel like you have some resistance to work against, but it isn't really difficult resistance. You may wish to try this. I don't know where you get this yellow banana, I bought it from my pelvic physio. She told me some sex stores sell them. Understand, it doesn't look like a banana, just a rope loop (like a lasoo...one end of loop is wider than the other). You put the wide end of the loop up the vagina and squeeze. No risk of rupturing anything with this method as loop is very flexible.

you probably don't need it.
I didn't buy that particular gizmo, but tried a similar one and found I couldn't tell which muscles were contracting with what effort. Disheartening.
For the best "biofeedback" just insert a couple of fingers inside yourself while doing pelvic floor exercises. That way, you can tell which muscles are firing and which ones aren't. I've been doing 20 minutes per day, twice a day for a couple of months now, and every once in a while discover a new set of muscles in there, or a new impulse that triggers them better.
That exercise plus "the posture" has made my cystocele hardly bothersome at all, whereas it was pretty alarming 3 months ago. I'm firming up inside, slowly but surely.

This product works!!!!
I am 25 yr old young professional... I had met my boyfriend a year and a half ago... I fell in love and it came time to take our relationship to the next level... but it had been quite some time before him and I had also noticed I had dribbling when laughing for a while just little leaks that I could not control... my pelvic walls were basically atrophied... and I had no control of them... I bought this product and I used it twice I already had stopped the accidental leaks and had noticed a drastic change in feeling while having sex... now I have been using it for quite some time three days a week 6 set of 30 reps... And all I can say is that this product WORKS!!! I feel everything with my mate and he feels a drastic change as well... he compliments me all the time... and swears by this product even makes sure I'm doing my exercises! If you think about the product logically you'll see why and how it works... it was I little embarrassing for me and uncomfortable mentally at first... but the benefits far outweigh the stigmas against it... essentially that's what this is exercise equipment... just like the ab machines at the gym... it creates resistance while doing crunches rather than just doing crunches without the machine... and yes sometimes when you have a really good workout its harder to take out and put it in but that is showing you that it is working... I swear by this product and would recommend it to every single woman on earth whether or not if there's a problem down below... you muscles in your vagina are just like any other and needs to be worked out...

To be honest...
The muscles of the Vagina are nothing like the muscles you would work in the Gym - It is very easy to overwork the pelvic floor and to make your prolapse worse by this. Yes at the same time you can make sex better and maybe you will not leak as much - But think about it - Do we get Arnold Schwartzenegger Vaginas?
You may swear by it and may have seen results etc. But I would urge women to take care as to over work this area is worse than doing very little.
Posture works and maybe a few Kegels - But too many Kegels a day will tire this area VERY easily, and then it will drag and get worse and feel worse.
Think of this 'muscle' as more of a trampoline which holds you up - And supports your organs rather than something that needs to be worked out like your abs etc, when you truly understand how this works - Then you will become enlightened to what is - And is not - A good thing to do :)

Core Strength
Sue,
I agree, and I do agree from my own experience. The first few weeks I had the prolapses, I did one kagel after another and it got worse rather than better.
I think the idea is to strengthen the entire body from top to bottom and then build a lot of core strength. Core strength won't happen with kagels, but it will with other exercises.
Core strength is the ability to be able to lift a leg straight out so that it is perpendicular to the trunk of the body and hold it there as long as you want. I've seen ninety year old women who can do this.
