Spine problems

Body:

Hi Everybody,
I have been going through a very difficult period, because one and a half month ago I had a very acute pain in my spine, and since then I haven't been able to keep the posture. I stayed in hospital for a week (staying all day in bed) and I must rest a lot during the day lying on my back. My rectocele grew a lot (twice as big as it was before this event) and its very uncomfortable during the day. I am very worried about this. The only thing I can do is that I relax my belly, but I must hold my spine very straight to avoid being paralyzed again. When I try to keep the lumbar curve I have bad pain immediately. Any suggestion?

I am so sorry to hear this, Buda.

If you can relax your belly, that is enough. The posture is all about holding the abdominal wall forward - but we can only do this healthfully if the abdominal wall is lengthened by lifting the chest and pulling up through the back of the neck (slightly tucking the chin). This is the natural, strengthening posture we see evidenced in our development as human beings. All these years women have reported being strengthened by WW posture. I am very sorry you are struggling.

Wishing you well,

Christine
