Seeing progress..but question about rectal symptoms

Body:

Hi all,
I just wanted to say that since noticing my prolapse a little over a month ago and adopting the posture and reviewing the DVDs, my symptoms are much better than when they started.
When they first came I had a strong pressure feeling like during labour like something was pushing down. I also had some incontinence with activity and no longer have this! I'm truly hopefully that my postpartum body is healing.

However, I've posted before that I had rectal symptoms of pressure. I had this yesterday and the day before. But I'm now wondering if this is rectocele or if I may in fact have haemorrhoids. I'm actually hoping for haemorrhoids because I feel it's more of a positive outlook lol! Not sure about that though. I know not to self-diagnose online, but just wondering if anyone has experience where I may be able to differentiate.

So after a hard BM 2 days ago (I did not strain though), I had what felt like irritation right near my anus, and maybe an inch inside. It's hard to pinpoint though. It kind of felt almost like a burning irritated feel. But not itchy. No blood noticed with BMs. Sometimes I feel pressure in rectal area, but it feels to be very close to the anus, and like I said maybe one inch inside. Noticed more after hard BM and after sitting a lot yesterday. I had a look with a mirror - and this is hard to describe - but I see a small extra bit of skin at my anus. Right where it's puckered, there is just a tiny bit of an extra fold of skin. Could my rectal symptoms in fact be hemorrhoid related? If anyone else has gone through this.

I don't need to splint and bowels come out easy when I get the urge. Also, I just started using a stool today as a squatty potty and had a softer movement, and symptoms aren't bad right now. Quite mild.

Apologies for the essay!
Thanks ahead for any insight.

You should probably read Christine's take on the squatty potty concept - here's a good thread:

Other than that, it sounds like your healing is going along fine; just keep with the program and try not to over analyze every sensation (and put that mirror away for awhile). That's probably not helpful but you might get better insights from our other PP moms. - Surviving

That is too bad about the squatty potty because my bm seemed to happen so fast in that position...ill give the other position a try.
Yes, hard for me not to over analyze. I'm a research junkie and have always been a worry wart. Trying to tame things down with meditation though :)
Thanks for your reply.
