Do I Have Prolapse?

Body:

Hi everyone, I am new to this site....came across it trying to figure out why I am experiencing pain during intercourse. One of the potential causes was a fallen uterus. This got my attention because my doc has told me that my muscles are weak from giving birth to 4 children. I dont having anything pretruding out but I do notice that when standing for long periods of time, my vaginal area feels like gravity is literally pulling it down. Its very uncomfortable, sitting does help to relieve it. Also, before I would urinate a liitle if I cough, sneezed or even ran...however that symptom has improved.
Could the pain during intercourse (the pain is felt in my pelvic / loeer abdomen area) and the gravity pulling feeling be a sign of prolapse?

Thanks for your help.

Hi pinkpearl and welcome,
I have a prolapsed uterus, but pain during intercourse was never a symptom for me. Ya, he would bump it around on occasion depending on the position, but nothing more than that. Could you be experiencing vaginal dryness? That would be more the culprit for painful intercourse.
As far as the heavy dragging feeling, yes, that can be a symptom of prolapse, along with a bulgy or rubbing kind of feeling. Some women don't have any of these kinds of symptoms, yet still have prolapse.

Have you had a chance to read about Christine's work? There is a lot of information on here to let you know more about what you are experiencing and what you can do about it. Top of the tool bar is a good place to start. You will find that the whole woman work is for all of us, and it is never too late to start.

I do experience dryness at times but didn't think it would cause sharp pelvic pain?? I have been looking around the site and am amazed at all the info, its a lot to take in.

Hi pinkpearl,
Not sure where you are getting the sharp pelvic pain from, because that is not a usual symptom of prolapse. Most of us don't even know we are prolapsing until that telltale bulging starts happening. Maybe someone else will come along that has experienced that. I know when my hubby has hit my uterus in a certain position, I have felt it and it has even felt a little sore after, but that has been the extent of it.
Have you noticed different positions keeping that pain away or is it always there during sex? Have you just had a baby? Sometimes the vagina is just not ready for sex right away, if that is the case.
