Swollen womb

Body:

Hi i lived with a third degree uterine prolapse for many years but just recently feel like my cervic and womb are more swollen, making the prolapse feel worse.i have read alot about supplements to shrink the womb especially turmeric would be interested to know if anybody has tried this. i did use natural progesterone for years but stopped when it became to expensive. Would be grateful of any advice

Here is an interesting thread on uterine shrinkage:

https://www.wholewoman.com/forum/node/3118

I haven't written anything on the forum for a while but have often read the comments there often to look for any further Information that might help my situation. I have what I would call a complete uterine prolapse, it is visible and I can feel it all the time. When I sit down it Slips back inside but only for the time I'm sitting. I manage it most of the time but there is mechanical pressure on my bladder which can be a problem. For times when I need to "forget" my bladder I use a cube pessary, a newish model with holes all over to prevent a vacuum when removing.

I remember reading a comment by Christine many years ago where she said that she could "hold" her prolapse in her hand outside of the vaginal opening. I've often read that the peeping uterus is about the size of a golf ball, well mine is more the size of a tennis ball. This is probably due to the fact that I had seven children albeit not one after the other. I noted the thread on uterine shrinkage thinking this might help. I have redclover tea and am trying that out but I imagine that there is no guarantee that my uterus will react. Has anyone else noted uterine shrinkage as a result of the use of anything?

Christine once posted a comment to me that I've been on the forum for several years but haven't quite managed to see a real improvement, other than I do manage my situation. It could be that I'm
not getting the posture quite right - so many of you write that you get your uterus inside most of the time. Living in Switzerland, getting to the UK would be easy. I note you have a wholewoman.uk.
Is there a whole woman therapist there who could look at my posture and suggest ways to improve it?
Getting out to the US is not possible. Many thanks for any help

You can click on the WW Practitioners tab up above, to contact Lindy in the UK and to see where the other practitioners are located. I believe most can do Skype consultations as well.

A profound uterine prolapse does require more than just good posture. You really need to commit to lots of firebreathing and jiggling of the organs forward, with the goal of keeping them forward for longer and longer periods as you stand upright. Remember we are four-legged creatures from the hips down! Aging Gracefully addresses this issue all the time - sometimes you really need to nudge that uterus to a better place in order to get more benefit from the moves and exercises. - Surviving

Yes I appreciate the fact that getting my uterus back in needs more than posture.
I'm going to get back to jiggling and firebreathing and hopefully will see results.
Might doing this several times a day for a few minutes be enough?

Hi pompom12,
I think that if you are especially symptomatic, you should try to get it up to at least 5 minutes. I used to time myself, and was happy to get a minute or two in, elated to get to 3 minutes and then 5, as firebreathing can be pretty intense. I pretty much only do it now when really symptomatic or part of Christine's videos, but it is a great tool to use anytime.
And I can relate to the chest breathing. I think you mentioned that in one of your posts. I still catch myself doing that during stressful times. We both know that in order to pin that uterus in place, we need to get that intrabdominal pressure from deep belly breathing.
