Urethral Prolapse

Body:

I saw my Primary Care Dr today. I suspected that I might have some type of prolapse. She performed a pelvic exam and concluded that I have what appears to be a Urethral Prolapse. She advised me to use a sitz bath twice a day, use a natural lubricant, such as raw honey or coconut oil, drink plenty of water and practice bladder training. She said to give these things about a month if my symptoms don't improve to call her. Has anyone had this diagnosis? Will the posture and fire breathing help this sort of prolapse? I don't see this mentioned on this forum. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this?

Hi Troublemaker,
The urethra can pull away from the pubic bone/lower belly as well as our pelvic organs. Another good reason to start the whole woman work. Once you start learning posture and all the tools that can help you along, many of your symptoms will be greatly relieved.
Have you had a chance to look around on this site? Christine has brought us the most comprehensive information and the best way to deal with prolapse out there, and she talks about many of these things in her work. It's well worth checking out.

Hi Troublemaker,
Like all the pelvic organ prolapses, as I understand it, it's not uncommon. It's also non life threatening & easily treated with the WW approach. It's easily treated, but it does take time, patience & participation. Although the theory is extremely helpful, it is only practical application of this work, which becomes second nature, that will make the positive changes.

Sounds like you've had a pretty good doctor actually. However not surprisingly, she's coming from the mainstream viewpoint of lots of water & kegels/pelvic organ exercises. The WW approach is holistic & systemic, but the 3 cornerstones of this work are the posture, diet & toileting. Exercises, (no kegels), will accelerate & improve the organs back into or towards their healthy positions, behind the lower abdomen & above the pubic bones.

Yes - the WW work, including fire breathing & posture will definitely help. They are key aspects of this work. I highly recommend you engage with this work asap. The sooner you start, the sooner you can improve. - & then you could have conversations with your doctor about this work & any improvements you've experienced:) Definitely, in my opinion, give this approach a go first. The no-turning-back surgery must be a last resort. But the choice of course is yours.
Good luck, wholewomanuk
