Cystocele and discharge

Body:

Hi, I am going crazy. I discovered a bulge at Thanksgiving with no symptoms. A week later I started getting this constant discharge- almost like I was ovulating but minus the consistency. Just a constant wet feeling. I went to the doctor because I thought I had an infection. He ran urinalysis and others swabs. A few days later the urinary frequency was out of control and I felt like my bladder was so heavy and I felt this heavy pressure despite not seeing the bulge as much as the week before (also no pain with urination). That Monday I called and had Bactrim called in. Felt some relief after 3 days but the discharge has been relentless. My urine culture came back as not significant enough bacteria to be an infection, although I think I got worse After the culture was taken.
It’s been about 3 weeks of this discharge. I can’t stand it and I don’t understand it. I have been doing Kegels and have found the bladder prolapsed to not be as significant surprisingly. However I am miserable and feel wet constantly. I have a little bit of a raw feeling now, and I don’t know why. I have spent $150 on copays so I don’t know if it’s worth going back. I am also breastfeeding and my baby is 6 months old - this problem started around his 5th month. The nurse practitioner said oh it’s my cycle, my hormones, and I’ll probably get period soon. However this is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Any thoughts on what’s going on or if it will get better? Thank you so much for any input; I really appreciate it.

Hi LeahK and welcome,
I wouldn't worry about the discharge, especially if it is just clear or white. I myself have had that with the prolapse; it lessens as the bulge of the prolapse does.
Since you are postpartum, you will find our postpartum materials especially helpful, but a really good start into this work would be the First Aid for Prolapse video in either streaming or DVD.
Also, it can take up to two years for the body to heal after having a baby. That along with a with the whole woman work can get you into the best place your body can be when it comes to prolapse, and that sets you up for a lifetime .
