Tenderness

Body:

I was just wondering if anyone else felt like this. My bladder is oh so irritable at the moment (must drink more!) and when I touch the front wall (or saggy skin) of my va-j-j it hurts. The whole area has become incredibly tender to the touch in fact when touching the back wall it has the same sensitivity (actually I would say the whole of it inside). I wonder if this is prolapse related or whether I have something else going on here. I can't imagine having sex with such tenderness. I must admit when the nurse did my smear the other week I winced with discomfort.

This is actually worrying me now but I can't think what it could be.

I did forget to mention that I have no discharge or signs/symptoms of an infection. My period is on its way (hoping this may relieve some of the discomfort of prolapse) but nothing else. In fact when I sit in certain ways I also feel this pain like the walls are touching/rubbing together and its most unpleasant.

I think another trip to the doctor may be in order.

ATS, the bladder tenderness I am well acquainted with. Sometimes I am so tender, sometimes not at all. I have a long history with bladder woes. I have been taking an herbal supplement for one year now. It has been my first year with no infections in probably the last 25 years. When I get bladder tenderness now I can usually associate it with something I ate. I am so very fond of fruit juice, but if I over-do my bladder will get tender to the touch and I can feel it as I walk and move about. Also, a day with juice or coffee without adequate water and my bladder will shout to me. It took me a long hard time to find things that worked for me and to come to understand my body so well.

For years I had urethral stinging, burning, and irritation. If I use aloe vera gel daily, I have none of those symptoms. I think my urethra requires a certain amount of healthy moisture. I wish I had known this simple remedy years ago. I had to find it on my own and it took so very long a time.

It does sound like a good, thorough exam is in order for you. Maybe with a different doctor for a fresh view? If you get emotional at the doctor's office, write out your questions before you go. A good conversation with a trusted doctor might help to sort out the big questions. Sometimes you get no answers though and you must seek and find your own. Keep searching, keep reading, keep trying. Listen, as closely and as sensitively and as compassionately as you can to your body to see if you can pick up on what it is trying to tell you. I had to find my own answers. It took years of searching, and I am still searching as life adds more to my list.

Be gentle with yourself. I think your spirit is at odds with your body right now. You must somehow bring them together for the benefit of your wholeness. Your body needs your love and your guidance and your gentleness. It is struggling and needs your compassion. You have mine, Kit

Hi ATS, are you feeling any better today? I know the bladder stuff can really make life miserable. I remember so well it causing my whole body to tense up from the pain.

Have you ever tried a castor oil pack? I started doing them a few months ago and they are so comforting. I got the idea and instructions from another forum. There were several nights that I went to sleep with one on.

If you are interested I will tell you more about it. You do have to have some quiet time to yourself to do it. You need very little in supplies...castor oil from the health food store, some flannel or other cloth and a hot water bottle. A lot of people really believe they are very healing. I know they were very comforting to me and I could not find any downside except for being a bit messy.

Thinking about you, Kit

I had just posted a message to! You will see from reading it that I have not had a good day today.

I have heard of the castor oil packs, in fact I have instructions from my Maya Therapist and all the supplies to do it I just haven't made the time to do it.

They are supposed to be very healing so I think I will HAVE to make the time. I'll get my butt off the sofa in a minute and do something about it. I keep hoping I will wake up tomorrow and find its a good day but this last week has been horrible.

Thanks.

Good luck with it! Also, did you get information on what temperature to heat the water to? I just experimented but I'd love to know what is recommended. Kit

My instructions say:-

Warm the caster oil to skin temperature in a non-metallic pot. Soak the cloth in the oil to make it well saturated but no dripping. Place the pack over the area to be treated, and cover the pack with plastic food wrap. Place a heat source, a heating pack or hot water bottle, on top of the pack and maintain a constant warmth throughout the treatment. Secure this in place with a heavy towel.

It is, alternatively, possible to apply the oil directly to the skin, cover and then apply the heat source.

It goes on to say:-

A typical regime for non-acute conditions is three times a week, every other night for three weeks with the fourth week off. Repeat this for two more cycles, take a week off, and then continue once a week until symptoms subside.

For acute situations, use for 30 minutes nightly for five nights, take two nights off, then repeaat the cycle for two weeks until the condition is resolved.

Do not use the packs during times of heavy bleeding, gaseous stomach, intenstinal conditions or during pregnancy.

On rare occasion a rash can occur at the site. To avoid this you can wash the oil off after your treatment with a weak solution of 1 tblsp baking soda to one cup of warm water.

Hope this helps.
