When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

For that muscle tightness I
For that muscle tightness I get therapeutic massage. It does absolute wonders for me. I have the same leg and buttocks pain problem you are describing. On days I work out, my butt and thighs just burn at night when I'm sitting on my computer even though they don't hurt while I'm actually exercising. Part of my problem is my chair is hard and my butt is smaller so I have less padding. :-)) I view that as a good thing. But I gotta buy a softer chair.

thank you Anne H
Anne H for coming back to me so quickly! And thank you Alemama for cushion tip. It is somewhat of a relief to know that someone else has the same aches and pains as me though I am sorry that you have them! Will definitely consider therapeutic massage though money is a bit tight at the moment. Your small butt comment did make me laugh and you should be proud of it. Mine too is small and hasn't got much flesh on it so maybe that is why I feel it more in that area!
Hope you find a comfier chair.

tight muscles
hi Frankie. you say that the muscles in your thighs are tight and you can't lift your leg up straight while laying on your back.
to me this says that the tight muscles are the ones in the back of your thigh (your hamstrings).
{as an aside I will say that you shouldn't lay flat on your back and lift your legs straight up anyway. if you must do that, bend one hip and knee so that your foot is 'standing' on the floor/bed/surface and lift the other leg. this protects your low back}
the wholewoman posture LENGTHENS the hamstrings, which is possibly why youre having sitting bone/buttocks pain. that's where the hamstrings and other hip/pelvic muscles attach. if the muscles are being stretched they oftentimes pull on their attachments and you can feel sore until the muscles stretch out a bit.
unless you meant that while laying flat on your back, you lift say the right leg and you feel a stretch in the OTHER leg. in that case it might be that your quadriceps are tight (the muscles in the front of the thigh) and that's another story.

Yes ! , I'm Flummoxed at the pain in my legs and hips !
I haven't yet thought of any real way to post about what I see as strange aspects of my prolapse.
I went from being in a strong, toned, slim, fit body... to this fragile , stiff, aching body in merely days !
And it just isn't getting consistently better .
There seems to be a Kaleidoscope of ever-changing aches and pains going on in my pelvis, but mostly my hips and thighs.
(At certain times my Labia just drive me crazy ?!? Other times ? Not so much. WEird.)
At first I thought it was the initial injury, then I thought it was the change of posture, not that I've totally mastered it...
Yet I still have this constant ever-changing range of symptoms. It's like suddenly my life has changed in it's
magnification ? And I'll say this , it's JUST weird as Hell. I don't wanna think about all this crap ! , makes me feel like some
damn Hypochondriac ! I'm not happy some of you are also having these realities.... but I'm glad Glad GLAD it's not that I'm not losing my mind !!!!
I AM starting to get a bit pissed though, that I can't prioritize my health-care financially, living here in this third -world country that the
U.s.a. has Become... Pissed. So waddya all think about Hilary ?

hamstrings
I have figured out it is from your clear description, thanks Granolamom. The only exercise I do with legs straight up in the air is the one from the First Aid DVD- you know the one also using the baton? I cannot get my legs straight if they are at a 90 degree angle to the rest of my body, which of course is what they need to be. They also pull and ache when I stretch out at the end of the First Aid exercises and touch and hold my calves.
Thank you so much for your explanation as to possibly why I am having these particular pains-sitting bone buttocks pain. This definitely makes sense and makes me feel better about what is perhaps causing them as it could be a GOOD pain if you know what I mean! Once again I am so grateful for your knowledge and feedback. The collective knowledge and experience available on this site is overwhelming in its abundance. I learn so much every time I take just a peek.

You are not alone
in this Zelda, in trying to figure out what all these aches and pains mean..are they good?? are they bad? I used to do an almost constant detailed checklist every day of the various parts of my body that were giving me grief and try and figure out what was causing what? I felt fragile, weak, almost an invalid.
Think mine were caused by a combination of my body learning the posture ( almost 7 months now and still perfecting it) , and trying to do much too soon in terms of exercise, plus of course thrown into this is the aches and pains that I feel just naturally come with prolapses if they are making themselves known for whatever reason. Mine have eased off considerably since the beginning but when I do get them I am still trying to figure out what is causing what to ensure that I am not making anything worse!
However I think I have ditched some of the fear along the way without even realising it, because my awareness of them is not as acute and I also am much more confident that I will feel better the next day. It is like I am trying to accept and live in and make this new body as strong as I can. The funny thing is, is that in spite of it all I am feeling fitter and stronger.
Anyway I digress. I am in the UK and the recent stuff I have read about Hilary is that she appears to be more right wing than I originally thought....is this correct? What about the Iowa result? How do you all feel about this? I have to add that I am not a fan of Bush to put it mildly.

It defies description...
That's for sure ! I mean really - no two days are alike and my endurance on my feet
varies so much. I have become anxious about events or activities that test my endurance.
I really feel that with some good health-care I could feel more secure. I feel so unsure of myself,
because some really innocent things have set off the prolapse, and then I suffer a few days thinking I WON'T do that again !
But then I have good days that are almost free of the indignities... I don't want to pay such close attention, Ya know ?
Oh , I don't know. Our politics make me sick. not only have I always found myself highly allergic to Bush.. I think Rumsfeld and Ol'
Condaleeza... are straight out of a far-fetched conspiracy theory of this power hungry reptilian race from outer-space, down
here being power vampires. I look at these people and search for Humanity, and there's just no Trace !!! Mr. Romney seems to be cut
out of the same synthetic. He creeps me out. There is a disconnect in the back of their eyes. I am feeling torn between why
put ANY energy into voting when it's all sewn up already -Any Way? and at least going through the motions and putting My 2 cents in.
Right now all I seem to vaguely remember is Hilary's efforts with Healthcare... Oh I am woefully ignorant of politics these days. I guess
I am leaning towards Edwards at this point. When He smiles and shows enthusiasm it connects with his eyes and feels authentic, and he
talks about the gap between rich and poor that grows in our (burgeoning 3rd world) country. A point I am painfully illustrating.

No Hillary is not "right
No Hillary is not "right wing". She is EXTREMELY leftist. Very socialist. Left defined as centralized control of your money by government, in the form of directly taking it (taxes) or by regulating what you can do with it.
Do not get fooled into thinking those who vote for the Iraq war are "conservative" (right) and those who vote against are "liberal" (left) because being for or against a war is not what defines left and right.
To oversimplify: In theory, conservatives (what we call "right wing") want to control your personal freedoms (can't smoke pot, can't be homosexual) but allow you economic freedom (keep what you earn, low taxes), while liberals want to control your economic freedom (take your money via taxes and then spend YOUR money the way THEY see fit) but allow you personal freedom (gay marriage, abortion).
Hillary has a very strong, entrenched history of wanting control over your economic life. This is in no way "right wing" (notwithstanding the fact that you can barely tell the difference anymore between a DC Republican and a DC Democrat). Remember when she talked about nationalizing the electric industry? Remember Hillarycare? PURE socialism. LEFT-ism. Do you think there is a snowball in hell's chance she has actually CHANGED any of her ideology? A strong, stubborn, hard-as-nails woman like her?? Absolutely NOT. What you see is her maneuvering somewhat center to try to get elected. She knows darn well this country would never elect a hard left-wing fanatic so she is pretending not to be one. Incidentally, they would not elect a hard right-wing fanatic either which is why Pat Buchanan will never be President, and no, Dubya Bush is NOT far right wing!! Good Lord... look at the government programs Bush has expanded. This is economic taking from Peter and giving to Paul and it is leftist.
Right and left are defined by economic and personal freedom. Everything else is peripheral. Do you or do you not get to keep what you earn? What you work your butt off for? Yes or no. In the context of freedom one answer is good and the other is evil. Secondarily, do you or do you not rule your own body? Yes or no. In the context of freedom one answer is good and the other is evil. The "right" gets it right on one matter and wrong on the other and the "left" is vice-versa.
One is as dangerous as the other; they both want to move control outside you and into government, it's just in different arenas. And, by the way, there is such a thing as an authoritarian - the most dangerous type of Homo Sapiens on the planet. They want to control you in both economic AND personal areas of your life; from this group you get monsters like Kim Jong of N. Korea. Think of a Hillary or a Pat Buchanan as half a Kim Jong.
The last thing I want to do is talk politics on the pelvic floor problem forum and I'm sure Christine doesn't want this either so this is the last I will say on the matter, but I could not allow the Hillary question to go unanswered. I'm going to stay off the forum now so I won't be tempted to continue talking politics.

politics talk
Thanks Anne H for your interesting reply. I certainly don't wish to talk politics either on this forum although it does affect us all. I do know the difference between conservatives and democrats and like you in the US, here in the UK the difference between the two is barely noticeable. I appreciate that Hilary is not right wing, but she appears to be moving righter....I am sure as you say she is centralising herself to try and get elected. Our politicians do the same. Wish I could sincerely trust any of them!

Thank you Anne for a brilliant piece on American politics. I'd like to add only one thing. As a life voter, I think the bloody teeth of Clinton, Edwards, Juliani and Obama really speak for themselves.

I had to laugh (although not funny really) that someone else complains of their labia driving them crazy!
Mine drive me nuts at times and I cannot get comfortable - I feel like a bloke having to adjust his balls! Honestly it is so annoying.

See my other post
Hi Frankie
See my other post to Anita about pelvic stability, entitled "Wow". I used to have such a stiff back, glutes and hammies, but they are largely fixed.
Cheers
