exercise equiptment???

Body:

hi, i just thought id mention something i bought a while ago, its a piece of electrical equiptment and its meant to exercise the vaginal muscles, roughly 100 times better than doing them yourself, wondered if anyone else had tried it? i find it good but find it hard to fit it in my day, normally have to do it at bed time! i ordered the book yesterday cant wait to start reading it, so crious about the posture and firebreathing!

I've got one of those as well. Its an electrical stimulator (or something like that). I did start using it twice a day when I first discovered my cervix was sitting rather low. Unfortunately it didn't make any difference and I have found both posture and the Maya Massage to be benefical at keeping my uterus in place. I used to always have this really heavy dragging sensation like carrying around a bowling ball up there but that has gone now, unfortunately due a rectocele and cystocele I have other symptoms to contend with now.

i suppose ill have to wait for the book to come and to read it to start some of the things everyone keeps saying is helpful, i have not seen the posture explained enough on the site to even attempt it so probably better off waiting, having a really low day and a mood to match, so i dragged myself to the shop and got some comfort food, mostly chocolate! i eat well normally, but gonna be in all day with the kids and just want to be in bed but cant do that! so figure when they sleep later ill curl up on the couch...the maya massage is that something you do yourself or need help with? its the first time i heard of it.

I picked up the explanations for the posture from posts on this website along with the image on the homepage. The posture is also explained and shown to you in the DVD.

I am right there with you in mood. Things are bad for me at the moment and I am praying they will lift and get better again.

The Maya Massage I first came across on this forum when searching through old posts. At the time my only issue was my falling uterus and the massage involves pulling it back up again into its proper place and it is supposed to get the circulation going again in all those ligaments and muscles etc. in the pelvic area. My therapist also told me it pulls up the bladder. I have been doing it for about 2 months now and I have to say that my uterus generally behaves itself and hasn't continued to drop but unfortunately my front and back wall have prolapsed and I am now trying to find a comfort level with them.

I found a Maya therapist near to me who did the massage and then taught me how to do it as it is something that you have to do everyday and if you have the time twice a day. The only time you take a break is 5 days before your period is due and then not until after the heavy bleeding has stopped. If you go to www.arvigomassage.com you will find a list of practitioners in your area. You can also find it explained in a book called "Rainforest Home Remedies : The Maya Way to Heal Your Body and Replenish Your Soul by Rosita Arvigo" which you can purchase it from Amazon.

Here's hoping for a better day for both of us tomorrow.

P.S. Somebody did post an explanation of the Maya Massage but I cannot remember where it was. If you try searching either "Maya" or "Mayan" massage.

thank you for your reply, i know when your not feeling well everything is an effort,so thank you, you are sweet to answer, i like hearing from you, i think we all need a few kind words every now and then, so thank you again, hope you feel better soon, i will check for maya, as for the dvd what is it called? cant wait for book to come.. thanks !

I most definately need the support this forum provides. I have had many pep talks!

Our bodies changing in a way we never expected them to is such a shock. I expected to get wrinkles and have aches and pains etc as I aged but I never in my wildest dreams knew this could happen. My main concern after my son was born was that I may end up with incontinence problems at an early age. Thankfully that is one thing that has resolved itself but to be honest I would much rather have put up with the stress incontinence than this (I would have also preferred that it wait until I reached old age). Oh well, here we are and we have to make the best of the situation and we definatley need the support of each other through these times.

Onward and UPWARD!

i was looking to get a gym ball but not sure if those type of exercises would push things down as muscles contract? looked on the net but cant find anything possitive or negative about it?? any ideas??

I had just bought a gym ball and a DVD workout programme weeks before my prolapse discovery and I have never used it. I think the workout would put alot of pressure on my pevlic area.

I am definately not an exercise junkie so am useless at recommending exercise but there are lots of ladies on here who love their exercise and hopefully they will chime in. The only people to get use of my gymball are my kids!

i am so bad with exercising its only lately that im really trying more, with the prolapse im afraid to try new things, curves isnt too much on my body, but is only 30 mins maybe 3 times a week, and i need to do more, i still have extra weight from having grace, and for myself and my prolapse i feel i need to lose even a little bit, stuck around the same weight for the last 6 months, i think it would help my mind a little too, i was gonna buy it but will hold off for the moment maybe ill get more opinions, thanks for yours:-}
