Wierd pains

Body:

Hi All

Just so I don't derail the other topic, here's another one.

Bluemama, you're having wierd pains. I have a feeling that all these wierd pains might be just because we have prolapses. Of course they need to be checked out because some of them are pretty bigtime.

I get wierd pains too, like I never got in earlier adulthood. I am nearly 55 and still menstruating. If you think about it, the sturctures that are supposed to hold our pelvic organs in exactly the right positions are damaged in some way, so as we move, and as we digest food and go through our monthly variations things might be bumping against other things, or rubbing, or being pushed out of the way by other things. The fascia may also have a protective function to stop the different muscles, organs etc from being impacted on by each other, and when the fascia are damaged they hit each other directly, there may be some friction, and it hurts!

Any other theories from anyone????

I often find that the pains strike me in the second half of the cycle, often close to starting a period. I put that down to just being more physically sensitive at that time. I even wait until the period is over before waxing my legs!! So I diary when and what body part, and wait until the period has gone, then decide whether to go to the doctor or not. Ovulation time is often a culprit too, but that might just herald the beginning of the two weeks of sensitivity. After all, your body is preparing for pregnancy for two weeks, so there is probably a whole lot of different metabolism happening, and inflammation as cells proliferate in the belly and boobs etc. Man, I can't even wear a bra this week!!

Cheers

hi louise-

I think you're right- that it is all connected to the prolapse, which is why I'm not worrying as much. I know everythings changed- I kept thinking there was a chance that by sheer force of will I could make it back the way it was, but there's some acceptance now that life will be different, and if I pay attention, I'll be figuring out new ways to do things I love (like sex). I had a bad week last week with a split and hemi and couldn't sit down- combined with everything else it felt like too much, but I just worked on getting the diet and water drinking back into shape and things have gotten better.

the side pain thing seemed to happen around ovulation and didn't continue so I haven't taken it to a doctor. things are weird- weird discharge, the bubbling air, back pain and gas related to foods and then having a rebound effect on the rectocele which them affects the cystocele etc etc. the dieticians said I still have a yeast problem which can block me up or cause other issues, and I know drinking water is key to keeping everything in check. still waiting on the book, so will see if posture changes help. I've been trying to walk around with a little curve in the back and seems to feel right.

its awful that all these thing are related, and yet a relief- now I know what's wrong and I'm finding ways to get better, there's hope.

I agree with you- when the balance between the organs is out- whether diet, strain or menstrual cycle, everything rubs and gets irritated. diet is key for me- when its out all goes downhill.and keeping the stress to a minimum...

the diary idea sounds good- have to do one for the dietician for food and water and menstrual cycle symptoms- and tend to note down physical issues as well. can never notice ongoing patterns otherwise! thanks for the post- this site changed my life. finally some answers.

cheers,
bluemama
