When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!
Best wishes,

heavy periods and prolapse
my guess is that they are related, but I have no scientific reason to believe that they are. I can say, however, that since I started the postural work and changed my diet, my periods did become more regular and lighter too.
In any case, I would probably ask my dr about it, if I were spending hrs on the toilet bleeding. that sounds pretty awful.

That does not sound good. Bleeding that heavy is never a good thing and can cause you to become anaemic. My mum had problems with heavy bleeding and became quite anaemic. She did get some tablets from the doctor to slow the flow on the really heavy days. Like you she was housebound on the bad days as it was so bad.
I know I have said it before but Maya massage can help with this. My periods are lighter since doing the massage.
I have noticed that since prolapse I have started getting period pain type cramps periodically throughout the month and I have never had problems with cramps. That I feel is definately related to prolapse.
I would definatley speak with your GP though.

Heavy menstrual bleeding
Stella,
There are many possible causes for heavy menstrual bleeding. A common one, especially for women approaching menopause, is uterine fibroids - these can be detected through ultrasound. Whatever the cause of your bleeding, that is something for which you should seek professional medical diagnosis. Once you know what you are dealing with, you will be in a better position to decide on a course of action.
Please have it checked out and follow up here on the forum - you will almost certainly find women here with the same or similar conditions!
Best,
J.

thanks everyone
I doubt I am close to menopause(I'm 36) but I figured it was probably fibroids...I had one years ago that was very small...I don't think I would go ahead with any procedure to remove them anyway so I hesitate to find out?!

Fibroids
That's what sprung to mind. It was terrible fibroids that caused my mums bleeding but she also bleed for about 3 weeks out of 4.
I certainly do not blame you for not wanting anything messed about with! I have never researched fibroids but wonder if there may be some natural alternatives that you could try first.
When I saw a gynaecologist back in November he said my uterus was twice the size it should be and the only thing I could think of was fibroids. I have never sought further investigation nor was I offered it but as I don't have any problems or irregular bleeding I will leave it alone for now.
I hope you find some answers.

Fibroids
Hi Stella and Anita
We are getting into medical diagnosis territory here. Stella, I can only strongly suggest that you have this checked out medically, but do your own research too. There is a heap of info out there on the Net. There are so many possibilities for heavy bleeding, I suspect a few less for enlarged uterus.
Not suggesting that fibroids are not the culprit, but ...
There was an extensive discussion of fibroids some time ago. Put 'fibroid' into the search box. I came up with 4 or 5 pages of posts, then use browser's Find function on each one to pinpoint the correct post.
And remember to go to the doctor.
Cheers

Oh no, I certainly would not
Oh no, I certainly would not try and diagnose anyone here it was just our thoughts. My previous post did say Stella should go to her GP for advice as would I if I felt something wrong.
Yes I agree heavy bleeding can be a number of things and it would take a trip to the GP to get to the bottom of it.
Cheers

Medical stuff
Nah, not meaning to criticise, not personal, Anita. We often seem to get into these discussions. As much as anything I was really just reinforcing the point. Sorry if I went overboard. It's OKl.

Dr Phobe
Stella,
I'm with you. I'd rather walk naked down my street than go to the doctor. It takes everything I have to just make an appointment. I like my vet more than my doctor. Actually I love my vet - we've been friends 30 years - never ever have I ever found his advice startling or dumb or even wrong.
I don't need a pap for three years, hurray! So now I've got a 3 year reprieve!!! My own doctor is a woman. It will take a whole truckload of wisdom before I pay much attention to her, however - too many mistakes by her predecessors.
