When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!
Best wishes,

Sorry, I can't answer your question, but I have found cherries work really well for me. Plus, I love them to bits. They are pricey though and sometimes hard to find. Others were talking about clementines working for them. I've found eating 4 before bed works really well too. They are seasonal also. I eat oatmeal most mornings and have ground flaxseed in my juice or chocolate milk each day to control the hotties. I don't need it for that reason anymore but I still have it because I became so accustomed to it that I miss it if I skip now. A big benefit has been the additional fiber that I need. Also, magnesium as a supplement helps a lot, but it gives me too much help. Kit

Miralax
Hi Ihearted:
I too am taking Miralax. I used to take it awhile ago along with Zelnorm and stool softners. I had good success until Zelnorm was taken off the market :(.
I need to take meds for my chronic constipation which is from IBS not a rectocele. Before deciding on taking a laxative, take a look at your diet. Are you eating in a way that supports easy bowel movements? Do you exercise regularly? Are you drinking enough water. All of these components alone might bring along easy bowel movements.
I am not so lucky. Presently my diagnosis is IBS. Tomorrow, my new gastro is sending me for an ultra-sound to see if I have gall stones. They have just ruled out celiac disease, hplori & crones (I think). What I am getting at is that I need drugs in-order to go with ease (when I do go). I am still having major problems. I am beyond frustrated. I still fear that I am making my situation worse.
Now, Miralax your real question, is it safe? Is it addicitve? When taking any medication, only you can decide if the benefits outweigh the risks. From what I've read Miralax it not addicitve. It contains no stimulent. Your bowel will not become sluggish/lazy because of it. From what I've read, it draws water to your colon which helps push your stool along.
As far as colace goes, buy generic. I have used Walgreens brand and the CVS brand. Just compare both bottles to ensure the dosage is the same.
I wish you well as being constipated is no fun at all. I'll let you know how I am doing again on miralax. Right now it is making me extremely gassy. One day it worked and one day it didn't. I also take Amitizia. It does something similiar to miralax. (I was not gassy last time I was on Miralax).
Have you considered a fiber supplement? They help some people alot. They are not drugs.

prune juice...
...nothing "natural" worked for me until i tried good old fashioned prune juice!
it isn't the greatest thing in the world, but tastes better than that slimey old milalax in my opinion. i tried miralax and not only was it gross, but it didn't work AT ALL for me.

Prune juice
Hi Merri
I think that's one of the frustrating things about not being able to get your bowels to work smoothly when they want to. There are so many reasons why we get 'constipated'.
It can be hard stool from not enough water, not enough of the right type of fibre, stress and adrenalin in the system. Probably a whole heap of others as well, not forgetting rectocele and the twisted messages it gives our brains.
There is nothing quite as reassuring as a natural food that works to get the body moving. You must be very relieved, if you will pardon the pun.
Cheers

Chia Seeds
They had it on Oprah one day. Saying that they have tons of fiber in them. You can actually just eat them out of your hand. I ordered them online from a seller off Amazon. I think they have more fiber in them then some of the synthetic stuff. And, they don't give you "hot gas" (sorry) that prune juice seems to do (for me anyway)!!!

Chia Seed
Mom30, after seeing your post, I did some research on Chia seed. I am definitely intrigued and will give them a try. I read that they are a mucilages and, as such, are supposed to be super healing for the colon. I first heard about mucilages on the Susun Weed (herbal) forum.
There is a good article about Chia here

Thank you for posting about them. Seems I may have another power-food to add to my growing list. Who knew our Chia pets were sprouting healthy food! Kit
