Contraception and prolapse?

Body:

I'm wondering, what formsof contraception are effective with prolapse? I don't like the pill, am using condoms, but want to know is an IUD able to be used after prolapse?

Thanks

personally, the idea of an iud gives me the heebie-jeebies. just don't like the idea of something stuck in my uterus.

oh it's a toughy about contraception!!!
my physio says lots of her women with POP do get IUD's, but get someone VERY experienced to put it in, even if you offend people on the way. I can't decide what to do, but am terrified of getting pregnant for lots of reasons, so it may end up being my only option... but i don't want any hormones, fertility awareness can be very effective but my cycles aren't regular enough and i don't htink i'd trust it enough to relax.
vasectomy seems like the best option going!!! only convince my partner of that...

Hi Kiki

Yeah, convincing the partner can be a sticking point. They really don't like the idea of some surgeon poking around their fun bits any more than we do! Unfortunately, it took an unplanned pregnancy caused by poor condom technique (I am ashamed to say), *and* one that ended in spontaneous miscarriage, and lots of blood, and an emergency ambulance trip in the middle of the night, to convince DH that a vasectomy was not really a big deal. He was fine about it after that. ;-)

Cheers
