Body:

Hi all

I've just joined. Discovered at the weekend that I seem to have a cystocele and rectocele. Haven't been to the doctor yet, but don't seem to have prolapsed womb. I was pretty shocked but so glad to have found this site, and have ordered the DVD. I had my (1) baby 8 years ago - have been a carpenter, so the heavy lifting has exacerbated things - I actually had a very easy labour, but had slight prolapse soon after giving birth, but it's only just suddenly dropped now. I already feel that adjusting my posture according to what I've read here seems to hugely feel better - like I haven't got pressure on my vagina. Any advice for a beginner while I'm eagerly awaiting the DVD very gratefully received!
Love to all

Welcome!! I'm sure you will find many new friends here and a wealth of information and support. I was extemely depressed when I first learned what had really 'happened' to my body. I went home and 'pouted' for about two weeks---couldn't even type the words into the search engine to read about it (that would have made it 'real'.) My doctor suggested a referal to a gyno and the "surgery"---and I wanted to read about it on my own (as I do with EVERYthing!) but it took me that long to accept it and move into the dealing phase.

You sound as though you're doing well and have a good attitude about your body. I've done a lot of manual labor also--hanging sheetrock, restoring our farmhouse, drywall finishing, painting, etc. My house-mate/partner is a union carpenter/finisher and I can just imagine how that kind of work has effected you. You sound like a very strong woman!

Peace,
S&G

thanks so much S&G. Saw the doc yesterday and confirmed what I have - she was pretty good, and didn't push surgery, although she did say "it will only get worse". I had a slightly sore back yesterday from the posture, so just reduced it a little and it feels better today. Still my lumps seem much more comfortable and held in than they were.

Looking forward to learning more
thanks again
Rachel

well, I disagree. I mean it *could* get worse, but I think that's not a fair or accurate prediction. maybe without doing anything proactive it would get worse, but your here, and here's where its at in terms of stabilizing and/or reversing prolapse.
so put that ridiculous little statement out of your head because no good could come of repeating it.

and I had soreness too, when I started the posture. I think you're wise to ease up a bit. it gets easier with practice, and before you know it, you'll be sore if you spend too much time OUT of the posture.

and a belated 'welcome to the site' to you : )

I've been disorganized lately and sloppy about reading the posts here

I don't do computers well & have to use one at library.Just learning about this bladder prolapse. I bought first ed. of book and I started seeing a pt. Showed her book not known to her but not closed either. She is doing vaginal trigger points, feel better but a little more open. She has me doing the kegels on pillow to not put too much strain on pelvic floor? Idon't know if this works with your thinking. Istill don't know if I have the right concept re:standing and walking. I think I walk more like a Great Ape ,Imust not be on track. this is my first time doing this. I'm 65 and had no problem til recent fall and years of sitting on tail bone. I have never been pg,though I tried when married. I can't always follow responses to entries. I havebeen looking at site and appreciate info. thanks. Pat
