When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!
Best wishes,

The candida arsenal
Hi Chattylady
I believe that a woman's internal reproductive organs are supposed to be just that. Internal. There is often a trace of faecal matter on the crotch of knickers. It is impossible to wipe it off your anus completely. When something in your vagina, like a rectocele, hangs very low, it has the potential to make contact that faecal matter. The thrush hides in your gastro-intestinal tract so it may get onto your knickers in the faecal matter. Voila, you have cross infection from rectum to vagina.
One solution to this is to not wear knickers as much as possible so there is no agent of transfer. Another is to wear very close fitting knickers with cotton crotch, that do not move around, so any faecal stains stay back there, and out of the way of the vulva. Another thing is to change knickers or pantiliners (and towels and flannels) frequently, so contamination is not there for very long. Another is to add vinegar to the final rinse for knickers (Towels and PJ's too) and dry them in the sun. Sun will kill fungus and vinegar makes them slightly acidic which the candida does not like. Also observe good hand washing practices and other good hygiene strategies. The more things you do to flummox the candida the more likely it will be to die or move out.

thanks
Thanks louiseds.
I have to brace my rectocele when having a bowel movement. Also I had bladder surgery severaly years ago and have a difficult time emptying my bladder at one time. So sometimes I have to go as many as 3 times in an hour. One thing about it I sure don't get any leakage from bladder. It's up there good. But this does make it difficult to stay dry. I am really watching my diet but still have to take laxatives to make bowels move. This sound so gross but realistic. What can I say.
This is getting to be a major problem but all I can do is deal with it the best I can. Also I have hemorroids which make it hard to clean completely after bowel movement. I even use the sanitary wipes after bowel movement. I try to use good hygiene considering all this junk. I will try the vinegar you suggested. I really had a miserable day yesterday with the burning after using Monistat. It didn't burn when I put it in but yesterday morning I woke up burning on the outside. I tried vagisil and the vulva cream from Christine which is soothing but it just seemed like nothing helped yesterday. And of course the rectocele bulging made it much worse.
This is really getting to be a problem and makes me very nervous. It is making me a nervous wreck. Darn and I was doing so good the past month. I don't have health insurance and couldn't have surgery if I wanted to and I DON'T want surgery.
Can a yeast infection be overcome without the use of creams? I took antibiotics last October which brought on a yeast infection. Since then this makes the 2nd infection. I do know that my rectocele is a stage 3. Hope I'm not rambling on too much. Sorry

No creams
I can't use the creams either Chattylady. Everything seems to burn me too. Always makes me laugh when you read the contraindications for these things. As often as not it says they can cause the very thing they are meant to cure.
I had really gruesome thrush a few years ago. It was then I first noticed my POP and through what is THAT!!!!!!!!! Anyway. Things I tried for the thrust included using acidophillus caspule as a pessary an also using clove of garlic wrpped in muslin as a pessary. Can't really say what did it but it went away, thankfully. Horrible thing. Hope you get relief soon.

irritation much better
Well, earlier in the week I thought I had a yeast infection and now I don't. I have had constipation problems this week I guess that made the rectocele worse. As I said earlier I used Monistat 2 nights ago and it burned badly. Now I'm convinced the irritation must have come from rectocele and the cream burned me. I don't like to wear my pessary because I'm paranoid about it causing a yeast infection. Today out of desperation I put it in and the irritation is gone.(for now) My main problem with the pessary is that I can't have a bowel movement with it in even trying to brace it with my finger. But I try not to wear it unless really necessary and never sleep with it in. It does give me good support and makes for a better day! Oh if I could only keep bowels moving I would be a new person but have had this problem all my life. I kind of got off my diet for constipation and boy am I paying for it. Back to reading my book and just got home with granny smith apples and prunes.
Maybe I'm just getting paranoid about the whole thing. I have a tendency to obsess about things but my companion rectocele drives me crazy at times. I know it is a stage 3.

irritation much better
Hi Chattylady
Good to hear that you are feeling better, and you certainly have learned some things about your body in the last couple of days. Well done. Thanks goodness it wasn't thrush.
I have never been able to get rid of thrush without using either anti-fungal cream or tablets. Tinyshiny mentioned an acidophilus capsule used as a pessary. I have used a purpose-designed acidophilus capsule called ???? , but don't know what worked as I was throwing the whole arsenal at it by that time. I'll remember garlic next time.
I think the best way to avoid thrush is to keep your blood sugar relatively stable by reducing simple carbohydrates and processed foods in the diet, take a course of probiotics when you sense that all is not well, and to avoid irritation in the vulval area. In other words, live well and respect your body. Once thrush is established it is a sign that your body is badly out of balance, and it is often a long and slippery slope back to good health.
Good luck.
