Return of Menstrual Cycle and Prolapse

Body:

Just looking for some advice or thoughts on this... I know I've seen other posts on it before. I am 5 1/2 months pp and have a cystocele and a really low cervix and some days it feels like I also have a rectocele. I just got my menstrual cycle back (not a welcome surprise since I hoped it would hold off longer since I am exclusively breast feeding). Anyway, this wek my symptoms have been MUCH worse. Is this common? Is this likely to pass when my period ends? I'm pretty frustrated because it seemed like things were getting better and now it is worse.

Thanks.

I always feel the most symptoms of pop just prior to moon cycle. Other than that, which isn't too bothersome anymore, I feel great. I've been here just about 4 years now -- can't believe it. I always got my cycle back at about 5.6 months too, even though exclusively bf. I have a theory -- I always had oversupply of milk with overactive letdown, which meant baby couldn't comfort nurse as much in early months and fed really quickly -- it's the sucking that produces the effects of postponing mc, so that's my theory -- not long enough sucking. Don't know if that's your experience. I guess every woman is different. BTW, though, even though cycle came back, between no. 1 and 2, couldnt get pg again until dd night-weaned.

Blessings to you and your family.

Just got my cycle back @ 7 months PP. The first was awful. It is so frustrating and disheartening to feel heavy and draggy again, but it really passes when the period ends, do not worry.

after my first three, I got my cycle back at 14 mo. after my fourth it was back at 7 mo.
and yes, the prolapse is worse then.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I hope to find the yucky feeling goes away again! My son also nurses very quickly so I am inclined to agree with your thoughts Rosewood. Sad to have it return so soon!

I am 14 months pp and still waiting for mine to return. I have enough pain/spasms/cramps without it. I can't imagine what it will be like when it comes back. With my son it returned at 9 months pp. I guess it's because I am older now. My daughter nurses less than he did. Go figure. I hope I won't be out of commission when I do get it.

On a lighter note, my son got a pogo stick for his birthday yesterday. He wanted me to try it. I kid you not! Can you think of a worse thing for a prolapse? Sadly, I declined.

well after about 5 years or so with no period (but three kids) I did finally have one (which in retrospect I think was a miscarriage) and it was rough. But my pop felt better than ever afterwards (I attribute that to the support of the tampon for 3 days) and I got pregnant the next ovulation.
So now (4 kids later) I have had 1 period in over 7 years!
I can not stand myself when I am premenstrual. I think my body somehow knows that I couldn't cope with my family and those crazy hormones.....

I know I'm a little late on this one, but Kaismom, that pogo stick story really has me laughing!
