Running with a prolapse

Body:

My little boy is now 8months old and I was diagnosed with prolapses(front and back). I think it was caused by the dreaded constipation as I need to eat a silly amount of fibre all the time and it happened when we were away from home and our normal diet.
I have been to see a physio about my condition and have been given some things that I can do to help so I feel ok about it, although I was devastated when I first found out. It really is like you have lost a part of you and you will never be the same again. I love my boy more than anything but I do wish that my poor body didn't take such a battering from being pregnant and giving birth.
I would love to hear from anyone on the board who is a runner. How soon did you still start running again? Did you find your prolapse got worse or stayed the same? I was told that due to my age(32) I should be ok to carry on with running because I will still have high levels of estrogens so should be ok. I would really like to get in touch with someone that has been running though.
Before I became pregnant I loved to run and it was my passion. I was so depressed to think that I may never be able to run again and became very down about it. It also made me feel like myself again after being pregnant.
Anyways, I would love to hear your advice and thank you so much for reading my post,

Hi Kat it's great to have another runner join the forum. Read back through old posts and recently there has been some new discussion on running. In general my prolapse feels better when I am exercising regularly versus sitting around. You are still early, just 8 months pp so be patient with yourself and go slow easing back into exercise. Learn the posture and practice it while walking. If you have any specific questions about running with POP just ask and the forum members will be there to support you. Good Luck!
