When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

Urethrocele/cystocele
Hi Mamato2boys
Glad you are getting some benefit from the site. It really is like an oasis in the desert for so many of us.
Think about what happens when the bladder prolapses. There is a picture of this on p34 of STWW. Typically the bladder falls back and then down. The urethra which used to be almost upright and joined into the bladder at the bottom towards the back end eventually kinks and lies underneath the bladder, approximately horizontal, depending on posture and degree of prolapse. If the bladder falls back further again the urethra can end up being at the front, halfway up, cos the bladder kind of rolls backwards. This is why it is difficult to empty fully. In this situation the urethra might be not very obvious because the cystocele is at the bottom. When you do WW posture it tips the bladder forwards again. I can see how the bladder could move forwards and leave the kinked cystocele hanging low.
I guess it depends on where the supporting fascia 'drops its bundle', ie which parts are weak. This will determine how the various bits move over each other, and which ends up at the vaginal opening, and which is above.
You won't know until about 2 years postpartum how much recovery you will get, or where everything will end up. It might change again as you get older. In the meantime I suggest that you keep doing the posture to allow your organs to move up and forwards where they are supported on bone during everyday activity, which allows maximum chance for reversion without tension on healing fascia.
Cheers

stand up like a man...
pearlnecklace however urethracele is spelled...english is my second language, so dont look too close.. THAT WOULD BE PETTY.Yes please stand up like a man when you have to urinate, use a pitcher, soft plastic is best between the thighs, or stand or straddle with wide legs over the toilet bowl. this lets all the TRAPPED urine out. when sitting down is gets stuck and will cause infections and pressure, if you sneeze or cough, dont worry, this will only get the stagnant urine out. Its annoying but beneficial.BETTER OUT THAT IN patra

Wee standing up!
Hi Patra
Yess!!!! I have a wee under the lemon tree out in the front garden most mornings that it is not too cold. You should see the lemons! (Don't worry, the house is 200m from the road, behind trees and we don't have any close neighbors). I too have found that standing with legs well apart, slightly crouched, is a very effective way to empty the bladder. I think it is because I am half asleep and a bit wobbly so I have to brace all my abdominals to stay upright and not head over heels into the rose bush.

Louise, Louise!
Lol! Some things never change. Louise you are as entertaining as ever! I've missed you all, but don't have a lot of time to be here. Smart daughter, having that baby and moving blocks from Mom!! All is well, knock wood! Prolapse is behaving, although it's a real challenge some days after carrying around that now 18 pound (5 months old today!) baby.
Hope everyone is well. Hugs and kisses to all!

precious things
Oh Mae...those words were my very own..”Smart daughter, having that baby and moving blocks from Mom!” Today there are no words for the amount of joy that little bundle has brought to us over the past two and a half years. She is ballet-crazy (I promise I had nothing to do with it!) and delights in showing us her perfect 5th shashition. She and I were walking to the park the other day and a couple stopped to ask me directions. As they walked on by she called after them, “That’s my gramma!! Christine!”
Now to encourage all you wise-women to wee in a tall jar at night to take out to your flowering plants in the morning. We are sending entirely too much estrogen into our waterways, and our precious birds and fishes are absorbing the overload. Give it instead to your grateful plants who can truly break it down and utilize it.

urethrocele/cystocele the good and the bad news
well, this is only my experience so take it as such
I have both. the cystocele part of it definitely did respond much more quickly to this program (though even that response was relatively slow I'd say). the urethra has not gone back up and in as much as I think it still could (and I believe that it will one day). so that's the bad news.
the good news is that even my urethrocele has improved. no longer at the opening, no longer giving me any symptoms.
I think its not really possible to predict anyone's specific outcomes here. too many variables. my sensation with the firebreathing and the nauli, is that it moves the uterus most powerfully, then the bladder and to a lesser degree the urethra. its all connected anyway. I believe that eventually the stubborn urethra will get pulled up too.
stay positive, no use giving up on a urethrocele.

Oh Joy!
Great to hear from you Mae. Obviously you have other things and a little person on your mind than your POPs these days. That is a good sign.
NB If you are going to put urine on your garden make sure you dilute it first and/or 'deposit' it away from stems and tender shoots. Also remember not to put it on the bits that you might eat, or hose it off afterwards. We have very sandy, ancient, infertile soils in Western Australia, so nitrogen and sulphur are both low.
Probably best still to put it in the compost bin.
Now we know why all our grandmas kept a chamber pot under the bed and had such wonderful gardens. It was not about getting cold going all the way to the loo at night. It was a green thumb thing!
Cheers, and happy gardening.

I think I too have one (or a very low cystocele, I don't know, but I guess it doesn't matter anyway). Yes, it is tricky, but definietly can go back up. Mine did. If I am in posture it stays safely inside.
And Gmom is right, this is my experience too: if uterus moves up it brings the bladder and urethra with it, so just keep up the hope. You will be just fine.

Hey Liv...
Do you do Nauli or firebreathing? I would LOVE to get rid of my urethrocele. I'm in posture all day and do some of the ballet workout. I guess I have to make more of a commitment to nauli and firetbreathing. I can feel a difference, but my urethrocele drops right back as soon as I resume normal breathing. I'm getting better (now 8 1/2 month pp) just trying to hasten the process.
Thanks,
Janice

Yes
Yes, I nauli throughout the day, a lot exactly. I do firebreathing 2x a day. I am not consistent w/ the workout though, because I have no time (I have 3 kids under 4 all at home).
At 8.5 months PP my bulge was so much lower then it is now. For me things started to change just recently (around 11 months pp), so keep up with hope.

Thanks for your response. I
Thanks for your response. I am trying to stay positive, but sometimes it is hard to believe I will ever feel, normal, maybe "normal" is not the right word -- I don't care if the bulges really ever go away so long as I cannot feel them and they do not bother me (both psycologically and physically).
I'll keep up the hope.
