Walking massages your lymph system?

Body:

A friend told me today that the rhythm of walking somehow massages your lymph system. Possibly something about intraabdominal pressure pressing up under the diaphragm. Has anybody ever heard this before? Any websites?

I haven't heard it in those words but walking is good for helping the lymph system drainage (Search Google for Leg Circulation and you should find lots of information)
But - In the same instance sitting on a chair pointing toes outttttttt hold.... Maybe ten fifteen secs then bend backkkkkkkkkkkk you will feel the stretch on the calf - That also helps with lymph drainage - The lower drainage system they call the seond heart so you could find info by searching that also

Literally -- I am convinced that walking is one of the biggest keys to good health, and I wouldn't be surprised if "massaging the lymphatic system" is one of the many benefits. The human body was designed to walk, and many of us do far too little of it. Articles keep popping up about the impact of walking on wellness. Sorry, I don't have the time to pull any up just now. I look at some of my patients who are not ambulatory, and sometimes it is hard to tell what is causing their bodies more harm -- the pathology itself, or the way in which the pathology keeps them immobile. The difference in wellness can be staggering between those who cannot walk at all and those who can walk even a little bit.

I just went through several weeks of lymphedema therapy and yes, walking was a formal part of the treatment. Treadmill until the optimal heart rate for lymph drainage; don't tell me how they figure out what that is but that's what they said. As for the intraabdominal pressure, they also gave me exercises that do exactly that, in a certain order to move the lymph from the lower extremity to the "dump" point in the upper chest. A series of leg, abdominal and neck exercises.
