New and grateful to all my POP Sisters

Body:

First, I want to say THANK YOU to all of you for sharing your stories and your advice. I've had to wait in the wings for a week or so, reading your posts (login glitch), and I am so grateful for this site!
I discovered my uterine prolapse with cystocele and rectocele Christmas Eve night. I know, Merry Xmas to me;) To be honest, my first thought was,"Oh, look what I've done." I instinctively knew that sleeping upright in the chaise lounge and spending extended periods solving Sudoku on the potty were putting too much pressure on my bottom. What can I say, I have 3 monkies, my youngest is a restless sleeper, and the chaise is where I end up 1/2 the time. And the potty is my only down-time...depending.
I saw three doctors in 2 weeks, got 3 similar opinions, and was scheduled for surgery February 5th. To my old OB-GYN's credit, she did say the prolapse is something I can live with. But the predominant part of the conversation focused on surgery, and using mesh in that surgery, so I opted for another surgeon.
Planning my postop with 3 children and no family nearby was enough to keep me busy for a good 2 weeks. But once I got everything mapped out, I expected to feel some relief. I had come to terms with all that would come with the surgery, but when it came to the prospect of losing my uterus, I would just sob, in dispair. I believe that going into a procedure in such a state of mind can only result in poor healing. Once I recognized where I stood re: my uterus, I cancelled surgery. That very night, I found this site. I gleaned all I could from the posts, and began changing my posture and moving differently since then. I know it takes time, but I can already feel changes. I am so excited when my body *holds it's own*!
I haven't received my book and DVD yet, but if I'm following correctly, the posture I've adopted looks just like the one I (used to) use in Salsa dancing. I'm dancing again everyday to encourage correct posture and to get a bit of exercise. Most Latin dances use this posture (if done correctly), and I would encourage any and all of you to try it. Not only is it good exercise, but it makes you feel sexy in your new posture. Put on a pair of heels, tilt your pelvis, arch your back, and you are ready to Salsa! Any music will do.
BTW,I've decided since to return to my old OB, who I know will support my decision to heal my body naturally. I'll just inform her what I've learned about mesh use, as well as what I'm learning from Christine. Not all doctors are as well informed as they should be, but there's no reason why we, the patients, shouldn't help them learn (as long as we are not acting as the experiment).
Thanks again to Christine and to all of you POP Sisters out there sharing in the .:*ups and downs*:. of this experience! Love to you all.

Hi Oumrayan

You are so right about the Latin dancing posture!! Go for it.

L

Glad you found us. You sound so upbeat and positive! and I have no idea how you get anytime to yourself in the bathroom :) with my 4 if I don't have at least 2 kids with me in there- something is going on (you know like they are emptying all the shampoo out onto the floor, painting the wall, or unfolding towels to make a fort- something crazy- when it gets quiet around here I know something is up.
Yes you have the grasp of the posture! There may be subtle differences- like the head position or the ribs- or not- guess it just depends on the type of latin dancing.
Glad you trusted yourself about your uterus- amazing that you are so connected. I love the way you were able to let go and explore what was holding you back.
anyway *hi* and you are going to enjoy your book and dvd for sure

LOL! I love it! "POP Sisters."

You actually get down time in the bathroom?!

My older three have finally gotten to the point where they'll leave me alone because they know it's going to take me a while now. No in-and-out anymore.

Tents with the towels.....yeah.....There's no telling. ;)
