V2 supporter

Body:

After buying some post pregancy support shorts (look like black lycra gym shorts but have lots of panels), and finding they squashed my tummy too much, I decided to try the V2 supporter as many posted they found it helpful. Today it arrived in the mail - I have been checking the mailbox in anticipation for this and was happy to see it there. I ran (well walked quickly) into the house and tried it on.... much to my dissapointment I don't really feel much difference. Has anyone used it for a rectocele?

If I pull it up and hold it tighter it feels better (as in I can feel the counter-pressure), but of course this is not how it is worn. I thought I may have the wrong size but it sits on my hips and is not loose. Has anyone else found this?

Hi AussieMum

If you put V2 Supporter into the Search box it will bring up many posts that mention the V2 Supporter. Some of these Members may respond, but you could read each Topic and use the browser Find feature to isolate each mention of V2. Then if the person seems to know more about V2, email her by clicking on her username and ask her for advice.

I had a bit of a look for Web reviews but there isn't a lot out there. Women seem to instantly like them and get it right, or else instantly hate them and can't figure out what it should feel like when adjusted properly. I did find a few reviews about the sizing being misleading. You will probably do as well waiting for one or more of our members to respond. Hang about.

Thanks Louise, actually I did read some forums about the V2 and overall seemed positive which inspired me to try it. Maybe the size is wrong.....

Hi aussiemum,
you posted this a while ago, but maybe this will have some relevance if you haven't had any success with the V2.

I think the shorts you are talking about are the SRC shorts? They do a pregnancy short (which I'm wearing now actually) which has a lovely reinforced gusset to support all your bits but doesn't go anywhere near your tummy.

You don't have to be pregnant to wear them as the perineal and vaginal support is the same, to be honest I think they are just trying to flog more shorts by telling you need a different pair for post pregnancy.

Hope this helps,
Emma.

Hi Emma, - yes, they were the SRC shorts. I was debating which pair to buy and there was some super duper high ones, which I didn't feel I needed, so got the sports ones - just looked at the website and the preggie ones would be so much better! WW promotes not squashing the abdomen with tight clothes and the ones I have do just that! Plus I found them unflattering as pushed all my tummy into a ball shape which made it look bigger.

Maybe its worth trying the pregnancy shorts - do you think they would stay up on a non-pregnant woman with not much butt to hold them up? I find lots of things fall down lately! Thanks so much for the info.

AussieMum,
I'd definitely give them a go, you can always send them back if they don't fit. I've exchanged a air already (was trying to kid myself I'm not turning into a heifer!) and they were really helpful. You should probably go for a size smaller than you thin you need, and then they should stay up. And WW posture makes your arse stick out anyway, so maybe they will have something to hang on to. Lucky you having a small bum!!!
I saw your other post about your tummy. Yeah, it's weird getting used to it, at first I felt very selfconscious, and thought I looked fat and pregnant. But seriously, if the alternative is having your insides dropping into your pants, I'll stick with a bit of tummy. And there are still exercises you can do, like the plank which will help tighten up your tummy abit. And nauli helps too. I guess really you just have to accept you're going to look more womanly, and enjoy it. The posture makes your tits stick up and out too, gives you a nice bum, so it ain't all bad. And have a look at some pics of women in other cultures if you want some inspiration. It's only in the west we have this stupid ideal of trying to look like little girls forever.
