weight loss

Body:

I lost weight. Now I noticed my sponges do not hold tight in my vagina anymore. Maybe its because my vagina is larger now, less flesh. so my bladder slips out, Does the vagina loose weight too. Please help Patra

When I arrived on this forum I had already lost alot of weight and my POP has gone through 'Ups and downs' the whole time during my weight loss journey...

If I have lost weight n a faster time span - The POP has become more annoying for a month or three then it seems to level out a bit.
At my heaviest weight I did not know I had POP - I found out I had POP when I had lost about 3 stones (42lbs)

Now - From my heaviest weight to today - I have gone down from 262lbs to today being 138lbs, so I have almost halved my body mass.

When my POP was really bad - I used a Tampon sideways (|||||||||||) That way - One end in first. I don't know if by doing this it gave my body time to adjust - But at one time my POP was 'peeking' and very annoying - But that lasted about 6-8mths then it became less annoying in my life and now - POP and I live a happy existence together :-) I don't know how the Tampons may have helped in this - But I know it did - And now I am free to live my life without Sponges or Tampons or anything hindering. I know that my POP may get worse again one day - But I no longer fear it - I have named her POPpy and she and I are friends now :-)

You must remain in posture to help the body to regain it's normal position. you will be OK- Well done for losing your weight.

Hi Patra

Sue (MeMyselfandI) has been with us for a long time, and we went through all her ups and downs with her. It was so frustrating for her. However, she really has come through it well, and you can see from her comments how her body has adjusted. I can only hope that you can experience the same longer term improvements, and just deal with this as a temporary setback. I know people who have lost a lot of weight quickly, and it does take some time for their skin and presumably the connective tissue underneath it to adjust back, just the same as after pregnancy. Logic tells me that the same sagging is happening on the inside, and that too will revert within a year or two, just like after pregnancy.

You might like to try a larger sized sponge or a tampon or some combo in the meantime.

As Louise said - I have been here (on and off) for a long time - I did use Spomges in the beginning but I didn't get on with them as I did Tampons.

You can get Organic Tampons and stuff also.

There are many ways of dealing with and coping with your POP. In the end I stuck with the Tampons as I had a young child and the Sponges didn't work for me. The main problem I had was the sponge moving downwards and being annoying. As I said - Now - I am not 'tied' to Tampons or Sponges or anything actually (Bar once a month lol) I have been through many ups and a BIG down with POP - And now - It must have been a year and a half now if I remember correctly - Maybe even two years. Now - My POP is no longer peeking, sometimes If I am sdesperate to pee I can feel a weird feeling to front but as soon as I have pee'd it's gone again.

I am happy that the Tampons gave me time to 'readjust' inside my head, to realign myself with ME and to move on and resume LIVING well with POP :-)

(Its hard to think to type right now as a Man is working on the roof LOL - Bang bang crash)

I think that once the 'knowledge' of dealing with your POP is within you - No matter what - If you have it within you - And you have a bad 'fall' as I did (In a very messy emotionally crazy fashion) You can get back to yourself... Though it may take some time - I am so glad that Christine taught me well, and that even though at that time I felt desperation from the problems, I am glad that no matter where my head was - It had within it - The knowledge she gave to me and now - I am happier than I have been - Possibly ever in my life to be honest (many things have helped in that though)

I do hope that you can find a way where you and your POP can come to an understanding together and learn to live happily - However you come to get there :-) I was a Grade 3 POP - I don't know what I am now - Maybe a 2 - Who knows - All I know is - POP still resides within me - But - We are a happy couple sharing the same bod. LOL

Losing weight changes every part of your outward self, and your inward self has to realign itself and in the end - The smaller you is all adjusted and continues like this is how you should be. Losing a LARGE amount of weight brings with it - Its own problems....... But also benefits

have a lovely day :-)

You are the second person I read adout that used a Tampon or Sponges for your prolasp.
Please tell me where you got the information so I can read up on it or please explain to me how using these two things will help my prolaspe. pleaseeee!

This website is about the only source you will ever need to help you with your prolapse information. The search box in the upper left corner of this page is magical. When I just now typed the word tampon, I got 17 pages of past blog references and 17 pages for the words sea sponge. I think I have read more than 6 books of words right here since last summer, and haven't even scratched the surface of what is here. It is so exciting to find this information all in one place. I see that Jade and Pearl just posted in another forum. They are the place to purchase sea sponges (I think Christine has a link in the WW store). I recently posted about how I have used tampons (see diane5000 in menopause and prolapse). Keep reading and asking questions.
The answers are here.

I don't know where I got the idea or who told me of using them sideways for my POP... They wouldn't stay in - In their normal position so I did it sideways and renamed them 'The shelf'

I am having major computer probs at the moment - Just got onto a new computer to me - nd all hell is breaking loose - LOL
