When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

itchy bumps
Hi and welcome love2dance,
Congratulations on avoiding destructive surgery. My hope for you now is that you will avoid standard medical treatment for what I believe is one of the common manifestations of menopausal vulva/vaginal changes. Some women are bothered by only a bit of “vaginal dryness”, while others experience tremendous symptoms from clitoris to anus. I was one of the latter, including severely itchy bumps around my clitoris. This is often diagnosed as “lichen sclerosis” - these little bumps being the name-sake of the condition because they resemble tiny lichen on a tree.
Please read my LS article for an in-depth study of this vexing problem.
Here is what I know so far.
The phytoestrogens in red clover and alfalfa teas help reduce the amount of toxic estrogen metabolites in urine and tissue. I believe it is largely what comes out in our urine that inflames this area. Because I lean over to wee, urine flows over my clitoral area each time.
A non-irritating, organic barrier salve will keep urine off the area. This can be a pain to do each time you wee, but well worth it.
Because the vagina loses its natural flora after menopause, which is largely lactobacilli, a quality probiotic capsule (the gel cap disintegrates) placed high in the vagina every 24 hours is also helpful.
Luteinizing hormone is very high in the ten or so years after menopause. Our sleep hormone, melatonin, is the natural antagonist to LH, which is inflammatory in nature and adds to this great drama of postmenopause inflammatory disease. Go to bed early and sleep in a dark room.
Several natural substances are known to lower LH blood levels, including lavender and hops (yes, the herb found in beer). I keep a tightly sealed jar of ground lavender flowers and hops by my bed, shake it and take three deep inhalations before sleep.
All these things together keep my menopausal vulva issues under good control. Your itching should completely stop.
Once you begin to heal, you will be able to go for longer periods of time without doing anything special. But symptoms always return because our natural state is not “enough” anymore. It’s okay. Like prolapse, it keeps us on our toes.
Please let us hear how you do.
Wishing you well,
Christine

Thank you, Christine!!! It is
Thank you, Christine!!!
It is such a RELIEF to have found somewhere I can come to get real answers to the issues I'm trying to deal with. Not only do you understand what I'm talking about (that in itself is such a relief to know that I'm not crazy!), but you also have recommendations for things that can actually help my situation.
I greatly appreciate the work you are doing here. Thanks again!

the fine print
I have to add the caveat that in reality I have no way of knowing what condition you may have and it is best to be evaluated by a medical professional. :)

Can't find LS article
Hi, Christine!
I clicked on your link to the LS article in your reply to my post on itchy bumps, but all that came up was a blank page. Is there some other way to access that article?
Thanks again!

The link is good...it's a pdf, so chances are your computer is having an issue reading it. Go to adobe.com and download the latest free version of Acrobat. That should solve it. :)

LS and Pulmonary Hypertension
Thank you, Christine, for you outstanding article on Lichen Sclerosis!!!
After two years of itching and trying (unsuccessfully) to figure out what is wrong with me and what to do to help, I FINALLY have the answers!
After reading your article and researching LS online, I am quite convinced that this is what I have. And I also have experienced shortness of breath and the feeling that I just can't get enough air into my lungs. Your discussion of pulmonary hypertension in your LS article was enlightening (and somewhat scary--but at least I know that it's something I need to address).
Where can I get red clover to make myself some tea? I am really a novice in the natural cures for these ailments. I have stayed away from doctors, so I don't have the problems and side effects associated with chemical drugs, but in my ignorance, I have just done nothing. So I am now on a journey to learn what I need to do to help my body heal and stay healthy.
Also, where do I get info on a safe liver cleanse?
When I researched LS online, I found a website for an all-natural cream/ointment that has had great success with women suffering from LS. They even had a whole page on the website dedicated to info and testimonies on LS. So I ordered some of the cream and am going to give it a try as well. I didn't know if I should post the link or info here, so I didn't. But if you are interested, I'll be happy to send you the link to the website.
Recently I was doing a cleanse with probiotics in the morning and garlic (high quality supplements) in the evening. I did notice that my itching seemed to be lessened when I was taking the garlic--possibly due to the sulfur content(?).
Thanks again for sharing your wealth of information with us!
Gratefully,
love2dance

Hi Love2dance,
I look forward to hearing about your progress! I still can hardly believe what a shock to the system menopause has been for me. As much as I want my younger me back, there's a kind of satisfaction in finding what works to stabilize this me here and now in safe, non-toxic ways.
So many people have requested red clover that we will be selling high quality herb here on the site. We have received our first shipment and only need to build a store page for it, which should happen within the next couple of days.
To your health!
Christine
