odds and ends

Body:

Hi All,

I was trying to keep track in my head of all the posts I wanted to answer, but alas, my brain has leaked them away and now only a couple come to mind. I have no time to scroll back through the last several days, as I’m trying to sew an outfit to wear to my 40th high school reunion this Saturday. Yeow! I am getting to be an old lady ;)

Heavenly, you asked about herbs. I am not an herbalist yet, and at the rate I’m going it will be another several years training before I can consider myself such. However, check out this website: www.medicinecrow.com You will be amazed!

Oceanblue, your Jacob Cattle beans should be delicious. They were ones that Elizabeth Berry grew in New Mexico as well and I tasted them years ago.

Anonymous, thank you so much for the story about your elderly friend. Next month in the theatre we will be showing an interview with Nora Coffey from the HERS Foundation in which she gives a chilling account of the hysterectomy situation in the U.S.

Love to all...for my reunion I’m making a white smocked skirt (like the one in the pattern in the library) and altering a white t-shirt that my dd created for our annual Celtic rugby tournament. I will post a pic if everything comes out okay. Some of these kids I’ve known since elementary school, so it should be lots of fun.

;) Christine

Thanks for the site on herbs. I have been researching herbs for a long time but herbs for this issue is a bit different than what I have looked at before. I have found so many combinations but want the best. Thanks for remembering me as busy as your are.

Best Regards and Many Blessings Flowing Your Way.
Be Well

Dear Christine,

Last night I made 'rice con queso' a wonderful recipe from Frances Moore Lappe's Book: Diet For A Small Planet.

I used the Jacob cattle beans, and substituted goats milk and cheese for cows, and it was delicious!

Add a spinach salad with your favourite raw vegetables and you have yourself a great meal.

Thank you once again for your wonderful video on heirloom beans.

Hugs,

Oceanblue

so nice to hear that someone else uses this book. I have had a copy for a looong time now. At present it has gathered dust for some years. I seldom use cookbooks now as I usually find that I haven't got what the recipie calls for and if I do have all the ingredients, I still end up changing it.
My loving male eats all my experiments. Some are fantastic but alas I have to inform him that it may never be repeated. Other meals should never ever be repeated but he never complains.
