When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Remember, the forum is here for two reasons. First, to get your questions answered by other women who have knowledge and experience to share. Second, it is the place to share your results and successes. Your stories will help other women learn that Whole Woman is what they need.
Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

long distance car trip
We did this once (to colorado) and it was harder on my back than it was on my prolapse. We did not stop to sleep- drove straight, took driving in shifts and were in the car about 40something hours.
I'd say stop every half hour but that isn't practical. Every two hours may be enough- if you stop for a little while-15 min or long enough to stretch out.
The next time we traveled we rented a RV and I just got in the bed in the back when I was not driving. Much better :)
Safe travels to you.

Driving long distances
We have a rule that says, "Change drivers after 100km". Just getting out and walking around to the other side of the car, and having a bit of a stretch is usually the trick. I usually feel after I have driven my 100km as if I need a walk for 1/2km, and want DH to pick me up 1/2 km up the track, but I haven't convinced him yet of the merit of it. I'll work on that.
I find my biggest challenge driving long distances is sitting in one place for so long, on a seat that is not horizontal. My driver's seat in my car is fine. It has a firm foam wedges, trimmed to fit the contour of the seat, under my car seat cover. It is my husband's vehicle, our long distance vbehicle, a Toyota 4WD that has slopey seats, that I hate. I have a tightly folded/rolled blanket that changes sides with me, whether I am passenger or driver.
Of course my little D-shaped lumbar pillow goes with me everywhere. If I am not using it to fill the gap behind me in chairs I don't choose, I am sitting on it cross-legged on the ground/floor. My blowup neck c-cushion lives inside its zipped cover, in case I want to take a nap while passenger.

Louise, you seem to have it all covered :)
... all except have the pleasure of being in your own car!
My car is perfect for me it's like a box with a front and an end. I dislike hmmm's car, as much as you dislike your DH's car.
No rules here, but I did ask hmmm if it is possible to sleep in the back on one's side with a pillow and well, have to bring my duvet ... and hmmm said yes, but I would have to bend my knees a little, which I do anyways.
Louise, thank you for making me laugh, you and all your perks for distant travel ... hmmm hmmm hmmm :))))) My perk will be my wee pal, my WW dvds and my probiotics. First trip in 3 years ..... eeks .... I need help :)))

driving props and antics
Hi Oceanblue,
One word: hot water bottle. You can adjust it accordingly and it fits nicely between the lumbar curve and the car seat. I would be interested to hear if you find this helpful with pop? Other women have found that they want to adjust the water level as the driving goes along, making it fuller or emptier for long road trips. By doing this, and adjusting the lower seat, you won't get stuck in one position for too long.
Safe travels!

Thank you Aza!
Thank you for yet another graciously accepted tip: the faithful soothing hot water bottle. Who would have thought? :)))
Problem is, is hmmm's vehicle sits low to the ground, and the seats do not sit upright, not the way the seats are designs in my box with a front and an end. This is honestly no joke. I simply do not like riding in, nor driving hmmm's car.
However, in this case I must therefore, invest in a new hot water bottle, in the event that I sit upright and drive for a bit.
My plan is to sleep most of the way, in the backseat on my side, knees slightly bent, plus perhaps plugging myself into my favourite music ... = tuning out of the vehicular traffic.
Will try MK for starters ... guess who? Famous, awesome musician ♫♫♫
I do thank you very much for your suggestion, and will for sure give it a try, and give you a personal report, as to how much it helped me.
Thank you Aza for taking the time to help me :)
Hugs,
Oceanblue ... not departing until Wednesday...
Thank goodness for my wee pal :)

Musical notes and hotwater bottles
Windows is so boring. No special characters in Word that fit the bill, not even in Wingdings.
Hot water bottle. Wonderful idea. I guess warm water would be a good place to start, cos it would feel nice. I wonder if a bit of air would be just as useful? It would be harder, but not impossible to blow it up a bit, by separating the sides and pushing it down a bit before sealing the lid. A HWB would also be long and narrow, so it would fill the scoop in the back of the seat.
I have one of those plastic, circular cushions which is inflatable to any level. They are used with only little air for balancing exercises after ankle injuries, but are also good for relieving pressure on sit bones while sitting on a hard chair.

musical notes are beyond me
...and I cannot carry a tune anyway ;)
But as far as the hot water bottle goes - yes, it is great to have the option of putting hot water in it, but the value actually lies in the fact that it is completely malleable. Talk about custom fit...air, water, whatever...the hottie has become my best friend while driving for hours upon hours a day. I am very interested to hear from others if it is helpful for pop?

Thanks for the tip
Hmmm. Thanks for the tip, I may try this for my long commute to work! By the time I get to work through traffic, my POP and all it's related this and thats are aleady affecting me from the drive. I haven't conquered that slope in the car yet, even though I've tried using pillows as anti-dote to level the seat. My dad said he thinks he saw a car wash with something that was like foam rubber to fix that type of seat. I hope I can find it.
The seat's still a daily prob for me, plus, when I try to level the seat like that so I'm not sitting on a seat that very much slopes down into my butt area from my high up thighs, I end up sitting soooo high in the car that it's silly. The visor, even in the up position is in my way, and I'm practically hitting the ceiling with my head. Another good laugh over a bothersome condition!! : ) "Officer, I CAN'T get out of the car, my head is stuck somewhere in my car's ceiling. You see, I have this thing called POP....." lol

"One Word: Hot Water Bottle" Yep!
Heyyyy Aza !
I am now the proud owner of a salmon coloured hot water bottle for the up coming trip, and guess what?
Mine came with a lovely soft cover. I will be making my own, once I get back, and give them as presents :)
I did give it the lumbar test, and it felt good!
Thank you so much for your suggestion Aza and everyone else for your support.
Too kind!

Ya Ya Louise :)
Hi Louise!
Arrived two minutes before midnight last night. Not so much fun being stuck in a car for that length of time.
Have some advice for all:
Drive locally, fly internationally, and in my case more specifically: fly when crossing provinces.
Ended up in the back seat for more flexibility, wee pal received a promotion to the front :)
Am considering not driving back upon return. Will have to wait and see.
Good to see family, but wow, population density is much greater here than where I live now.
Ya Ya, I love the natural sounds :)

Long distance car travel
I think it is OK, as long as the trip is personally worthwhile for you. I don't really think long periods in a car are very good for anybody, but with the right seating aids and the right attitude, I will do it again, but I couldn't hack being an interstate truckie, doing it month in, month out!
Seeing the South Australian outback up close, with all its vastness, is the only way possible to see it. Likewise other parts of outback Australia. Six hours a day driving or being passenger, and sleeping in a tiny tent on an air mattress for three weeks is pretty extreme, but I did return none the worse for wear, POP-wise or any other way.
Glad you are home again safely, Oceanblue.

Yes, I managed to get home safely, but as time went on, found distance travel extremely uncomfortable as the driver did not take as many rests as I required. When you have time constraints, that is just the way it is.
Good was that I began each day with Christine's DVD :)
Glad that you could venture out and return 'none for the worse for wear.'
Best wishes,

sorry about that
oh man Oceanblue- hope that you feel recovered soon- I hate feeling sapped. The last trip we took, we rented an RV. It was amazing and well worth the money for us. We are so many people, buying plane tickets gets expensive.
I would like to do a train trip. Has anyone tried that? We would get a sleeper car I think.
I just want my kids to experience trains!

No Worries Alemama ...
I know why, exactly why, I felt so damn uncomfortable, because I'm used to taking my best pal on a walk several times a day. I am not used to being enclosed in a vehicle for hours on end, gosh, can hardly stand being in a car for an hour.
All relates to the lack of understanding of the driver.
Anyways, beautiful sunny day here today, took several walks and already am feeling much better ... for example, I hung and removed 3 loads of laundry on the line, neatly folded into 2 laundry baskets, waiting for someone else to take them upstairs.
Guess what? The cows are back in the forest, and my wee pal sniffed them out before me, golly day, he is the best! So are my feline friends.
Thought about the train, and that is a great idea, because it would enable one to walk around and around to one's heart's content. Yeppers!
About plane tickets, there are good seat sales on all the time, just a matter of catching them, and I do believe that one would be more confined depending on the length of the flight. Just see me asking the person beside me: "excuse me please, it's stroll time again!"
Yes, Alemama, train sleeper car sounds good, and why shouldn't we travel?
Good Luck!
Best wishes,

Trains
Trains are magic. And trains in the States are very well-organised magic! We did a wonderful trip from NYC to Quebec, among other US train trips, a few years ago. Very memorable, comfortable, and picturesque. USA and Canada people, you are so lucky to have such a comprehensive, and vast network available to you.
DH and I also travelled from Perth Western Australia, to Adelaide, South Australia, on the Indian Pacific sleeper, with our vehicle on one of the vehicle wagons. It is the best way to travel the Nullabor. We drove back, which took a slightly different route, as the highway is a long way from the railway line. The train windows are a rhythmic, slowly passing parade.

Magical Trains
Yes Louise, trains are magic.
Sadly in Canada many of the tracks have been removed and turned into trails.
I love the motion of the trains, and the flexibility of moving from from one car to another.
I would like to see the trains to trails turned back to trains, as their co2 emissions are lower than planes.
Enough said, take the choice that is most comfortable for you :)
Best wishes,
Oceanblue
