When I first “cracked the code” on stabilizing and reversing prolapse, and wrote and published Saving the Whole Woman, I set up this forum. While I had finally gotten my own severe uterine prolapse under control with the knowledge I had gained, I didn’t actually know if I could teach other women to do for themselves what I had done for my condition.
So I just started teaching women on this forum. Within weeks, the women started writing back, “It’s working! I can feel the difference!”
From that moment on, the forum became the hub of the Whole Woman Community. Unfortunately, spammers also discovered the forum, along with the thousands of women we had been helping. The level of spamming became so intolerable and time-consuming, we regretfully took the forum down.
Technology never sleeps, however, and we have better tools today for controlling spam than we did just a few years ago. So I am very excited and pleased to bring the forum back online.

Whether you’re an old friend or a new acquaintance, welcome! The Whole Woman forum is a place where you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of thousands of women around the world!

The dilemma
Hi POPgurl
Oh dear, this doesn't sound very sustainable at all. I do feel for you. The saying comes back to me, "Be careful what you pray for." ;-)
These two sensations are closely related. Many women experience an ejection reflex just before orgasm. Our biology seems to conspire against us sometimes.
Condoms are a real sexual turnoff most of the time. I wonder if wrapping your sponge in a condom (with a knot) might help dull the sensation in your vagina? I am not joking about this. The surface of a sponge has a very definite texture; anything to make it smoother. You can also get sexual lubricants that desensitise the penis, for men who have premature ejaculation.
Ironically penetrative sex is a very effective way or repositioning your organs. Whoever said women are not slaves to our biology like men are?

Great Ideas!
Louiseeds:
Thank you for that reply, and for taking me seriously. I was a bit afraid people would think my post was a parody and get offended. I think that doing something about the texture is a great idea. I couldn't use a condom because I have a latex allergy. I am wondering if there is a natural substance to wrap around it. Also, I like the idea of the desensitizing lubricant. I remember when I was first married, I got an infection once, and started using vagisil, which provided much relief. Problem was I forgot that what numbed me, would numb him! Needless to say, he was a little confused when he started going numb! ;-) I think I might try the vagisil. (EDIT: I LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND THAT VAGICAINE AND VAGISIL ARE FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY! SO NOW I WILL SEARCH FOR THE MALE PERFORMANCE ENHANCING PRODUCT THAT LOUISEDS ADVISED ME TO GET-- It wanted to make sure I updated this before someone else goes out and uses Vagisil internally.)
Thank you for the great ideas. That will provide a lot of relief. I was also worried that with all the constant stimulation that my brain might habituate to the feeling of having the g-spot constantly stimulated, and it might learn to tune out stimulation completely, robbing me of pleasure when I actually want it. Now I will feel so much better. I am so grateful for this forum. How else would we exchange these ideas! Thank goodness we don't suffer in isolation.

Sea sponge
Hi Popgurl,
I also sent away for a sea sponge. I found that as I trimmed the sponge as directed the centre of the sponge was to porous. I actually found a much smaller softer less porous sponge at the local chemist. I threaded a sewing needle with dental floss and sewed the thread up one side and down the other and left enough thread hanging ( like a tampon) and knotted the end. The thread is helpful to make fine adjustments to the position of the sponge and also helped with removal. (gently) After I wet the sponge and squeezed it gently so that it was still quite wet , I put a little bit of oil in the palm of my hand and dabbed the sponge with it. This felt a whole lot better using a finer textured sponge. A lot less irritating. This got me through the first weeks of pop.

Thank you for your reply. It is so nice that people are so understanding about this problem. Can you tell me if the sponge you found was natural or was it synthetic? I went looking at various pharmacies today and didn't find anything.

Great ideas
Hi POPgurl
I know you can get silicon condoms for people with latex allergy.
Re External Use Only, I think it is worth asking a pharmacist about this. It often means, 'don't swallow it'.
If your man doesn't ejaculate prematurely the desensiting stuff may do just that. :-(
I wouldn't worry too much about losing your mojo. Mojos come back again. I am surprised that you have much mojo while trying to deal with all this!

Sea sponge
Hi Popgurl,
It was a natural sponge used to apply makeup. Perfect size and silky smooth. I live in Australia, Im not sure I should name the company that sells them on this forum. If you live here we could ask Louise if it is o.k.

Mentioning commercial brands and specific names.
No probs. It is often helpful to mention a brand. It is only when the mention of a brand is gratuitous advertising that it is a problem. If it is all about provision of information or differentiating the characteristics of different brands, then that is fine.
The other problem is with endorsing particular practitioners, particularly if you are giving out information that might not be publicly available, or could compromise the practitioner's privacy. We have a personal email facility on the Forums which any member can use to contact another Member for specific information.
This is the Internet we are using for communication. We have to assume that we are standing on a soap box in the main street during peak hour. However, most people seems to scurry past with their eyes to the pavement when POP is mentioned so I don't think we are likely to be drawing the wrong sort of attention.
Perhaps we are not trying hard enough? (Just kidding)

Popgurl, Hiker- annie- Sea Sponge
Hi there!
Firstly I'd like to add that if you are reading this post Annie to keep in mind that my Pop (prolapse) symptoms started after my 6th week check up, after hysteroscopy and D&C and my fibroids weren't removed. I felt my body was ready to try a sponge and I only used it to get to the supermarket for shopping and go for a walk. I really listened to my body. It gave me a bit of confidence to leave the house for the first few weeks only. I was also in posture and reading Christines book over and over and over again.( I'm the kind of person who needs to turn a road map in the direction that I'm driving) It took me a while to figure out where everything was and what direction it all needed to go.
Hi Popgurl,
The company is called Manicare, it carries all kinds of things like makeup sponges and brushes, nail files ect.and can be found in chemists and department stores in Australia.(I have no connection to this company)
The down side of using finer textured softer sponge is that it isn't as long lasting, needs to be replaced more frequently and it isn't as firm. I soaked it in warm, not boiling water with a few drops of tea tree oil to clean, then rinsed before using it the first time. After use I washed it with baby wash and then did the tea tree treatment and aired it out overnight. It worked for me. Hope it does for you.

Thanks for the Info From Down Under, About Down Under ;-)
Thank you for going to the time and effort to post this valuable information. I really appreciate it. I am glad that we have the internet now, so that I can seek out things like this- even if I am not in Australia.

Youré welcome,
I found some tiny print on the package, I got a magnifying glass (no kidding) to read it. This product is available also in New Zealand, UK, Europe and Singapore. They'll be wondering why there is a rush on their sponges!!

That's funny Lotus Flower
We have that brand here too, and I can just see the puzzled expressions if they sell out of their sponges hahaha. I am tempted to try myself but I can't bear the thought of it getting stuck and being in a worse place than I am, which is sort of ok.Im a scaredy cat lol

Hi! Kiwigirl
Dear fellow spiritual journeyer, meditator and pop sister,
Ivé been procrastinating about responding to your sweet posts because I could relate to a lot of what you have shared and did'nt know where to start. I've been living with pop since January and have been visiting the forum each day for info and support. I've just discovered the joy of posting, so you will all have to shut me up if I get carried away!
You mentioned that you felt that your spiritual journey was interupted by Pop. I could really relate to that feeling. It amazed me how my meditating flew out the window when I needed it most. Pop really gets our attention. Now that I look back I realize all that I have learnt and how much I've grown and I realize everything is spiritual after all. It was lovely to realise I was reading a kindred spirits posts, I felt less alone with this . Thanks Kiwigirl.

Sea Sponge
I am wondering what is the TRUE purpose of the sea sponge...does it act as a sort of Pessary to keep the pop from coming down until we gain more strength from the WW posture and movements!
I am new today and wondering...I really love this forum...

I'm touched....
I thank you :Lotus Flower! I was touched and surprised to read your post. Don't worry about posting too much, we all do on and off. It's great to be able to share our worries and talk them out. Most of us don't have many around us who uinderstand what we are talking about.Although I do tell my friends, and say ...none of you know what's around the corner, if this Pop should happen to you, at least you will have me for support and info.As it happens I now have one friend who thinks she's showing early signs, and yesterday an older friend said that at a regular checkup with her doctor this
week she was told she had a mild prolapse, but she wasn't aware of anything lol.Weird eh, when often it's the other way round.keep on posting :-)
Yahfah-welcome!
I haven't used a pessary but I understand that is the sponge's purpose to hold everything up, short term , or even longer for some women. If you type the word "pessary" into the search box, and you will get a lot of posts on it . It's not successful for all, so please be careful. It takes care and patience . Especially if you have dryness problems.Have a read of those posts and then ask any more questions you need to , and you should get some more replies from suceessful pessary and sponge users.
Cheers Kiwigirl :-)
