Update after baby #2--it's been a long time!

Body:

Hello!

I don't know if any of you remember me, but I found this forum after I discovered my prolapse at 5 weeks pp after my first baby (in 2009). Eventually, I started feeling so good and believing in my body enough that I hardly thought about my prolapse anymore.

I wanted to report that I am now a mom of two! About 7 weeks ago I had a wonderfully healing birth experience, after a horribly traumatic first delivery. Throughout my pregnancy my prolapse was pretty much a non-factor--no pain or pressure like I'd anticipated. Now, newly postpartum, I would say my prolapse is about the same as it was after the birth of my first baby. I think it would be even better if I didn't have a very heavy toddler to take care of alongside my newborn.

While the prolapse is definitely still there (and perhaps a tiny bit worse at the moment), I want to encourage any women here who are concerned about future vaginal deliveries after a prolapse. I have so much more confidence in my body after going through all the pressure of pregnancy and stretching of childbirth and finding things pretty much in the same place as they were before! So, for those of you who are pregnant (or thinking about it), another positive anecdote for post-POP babies!

How wonderful that you were able to have a lovely healing birth! That experience will color the rest of your life as you move into your mature woman years. Good work!! Thanks for your encouraging words to other young mommies. The natural design of the female body is remarkably strong and trustworthy...we just need to believe in it. Enjoy your new bundle of joy! C.

congrats on the new addition to your family!
glad to hear your birth went well and all
enjoy your growing family and thanks for taking the time to share your good news : )

Hi Mzimm

That is so lovely to hear, and will inspire others who are treading the same path. I am just sitting here, smiling away to myself.

Louise :-)

Congratulations mzimm , lovely to read you had a happy healing birth this time round.Offering hope to many others wondering and/or worrying about birth with POP.:-)

Just earlier today, I posted a question about considering a 2nd pregnancy. I hadn't seen your post at that time. This is very encouraging - thanks for sharing!
Question - did you do anything special throughout your pregnancy to prevent it from getting worse?
Thanks!
