Dr visit for rectecel

Body:

I went to my new doctors visit today and she confirmed I have a prolapse colon. She had explain to me that the bladder surgery I had in march of 2010 was the cause of my colon problem. She ask me if I wanted to have another surgery to restore the colon and I said no way. But I had excepted to be fitted with a pessary I want to continue with the poster and the exercise because I know there is hope. I went to my chiropractor the other day and my hips, lower back, and sacrum been giving me problems. Has anyone tried sepia a homeopathic medicine that takes the heaviness of the prolapse away.

Thank you for you understanding as I go through this trial in my life.

Hey Queenbean

How's your body after the chiro treatment?

It seem to help a lot and the massage therapy. But I'm still struggling with the rectocel.

hi queenbean,
I know you asked this quite some time ago and I don't know if you still read the forums but in case you do, here goes :)
I am new to POP and since I use homeopathy a lot, it's one of the first things I tried.

I used Sepia 30C (though I feel 200C may have been better, 30C is what I had on hand).
I was very pleased at how well it worked. Even though I have had great results with homeopathy in the past, for some reason I had doubted it could help POP.
I didn't notice any difference in the position of my prolapses but it worked 100% for the pain and discomfort I was having.
I had a heavy feeling in my lower abdomen that had gotten to the point of really hurting (for example I was afraid to drive in the car because going over bumps jostled me and made my belly hurt).
even when not moving, it hurt - sometimes sharp pain. this may be due to me having endometriosis and having scar tissue bind pelvic organs to each other - then it getting pulled on as they shifted position due to prolapse.
whatever the reason, it was really uncomfortable.
the Sepia helped partially in just one dose (one pellet dissolved under the tongue). after a few more doses - ever 15 minutes or so, the pain and heaviness was gone.
for about a week I used it many times a day - any time I felt the heaviness returning.
I've rarely had to use it since then but when I feel a twinge of discomfort, I use it and it eases.
If I know I'm going to be doing something that would make me uncomfortable normally, like gardening, I often take the Sepia before I begin.
When I run out of 30C I may try 200C. with that potency, I would likely have to take it much less often as 200C will work for longer. however, any time you take a potency at that level, if you are a sensitive person, it can be working on a deep emotional level and so 'aggravations' can happen. so if you are not well-versed in homeopathy, I wouldn't start out with 200C.

Homeopathy is very individual so Sepia won't work for everyone and dosing and potency can also be very individual.
Have you used homeopathy before?

*disclaimer* I'm not a health professional - just sharing my experience. please don't take my words as advice :-) :-)

Hi Salt and thanks for reminding me about homeopathy, I keep thinking about purchasing a homekit, do you have one? I heard they can be bought online.I have Sepia Comp. in my cupboard ,is that the same? I get muddled...
My kids bought me a lovely big book on Homeopathy, have just glanced at it, time runs away with POP and other stuff.

hi Kiwigirl,

I do research online for specific conditions and then buy the remedy needed. I think a homekit is very helpful for things like first aid or colds - then it can have common remedies for those.
but for a specific condition, a homekit would have to have possibly hundreds of remedies to be sure of having the one you needed. and then it may not be in the 'potency' I want.

the Sepia I've been using is Sepia Off. (short for officinalus - I had no idea how to spell that :)

I looked up Sepia Comp and from what I could tell, it's a blend of a few remedies by Weleda. I think the 'comp' may stand for complex because it has other stuff in it?

is that the brand you have? if so, it has Sepia Gruneris in it - which is still Sepia, which is made form cuttlefish, but a different process of making it with one part removed so I don't know if it would have the exact same effects. If you've used that remedy before with no ill effects, it could be worth a try!
I'm glad I tried mine on a day when I was having distinct symptoms. then I knew for sure it had an effect.
If you try it, I hope it's helpful and, if not, you could always try the single remedy Sepia Off.
:-)

I use sepia with great results. I know close to nothing about homeopathy, my mw is well versed and recommended sepia for my pg related migraines. I read up on sepia and thought it might even be a good constitutional remedy for me, mentioned it to my mw and she said 'yeah, probably'.
now I take it for PMS related moodiness or any other hormonal-wackiness. maybe its a placebo, but it centers me within 15 min. every single time. I havent noticed any difference to my POP, but then again, I have close to no POP symptoms.
I was taking 30c btw

that sounds like a very positive Sepia experience granolamom
my personal feeling is that it isn't placebo but heck, if it is and it works, who cares! :-)
I've tried it for migraines but hadn't thought to try it for PMS and other hormone wackiness. I'll have to try that. thanks!

I also use homeopathic remedies and appreciate the thoughts about Sepia. I will try Sepia 30C and see if it helps when I'm in heavy pressure from POP. Let's grab at any straw except surgery! Thanks for sharing.

no harm in trying sepia, I dont think
but you dont have to grab at straws. WW has some good and solid science behind it (common sense too!) and it really and truly works.
supplement with whatever calls to you, but as a core 'treatment' for prolapse, this is where its at : )

Yes Salt my Sepia is Weleda, and no, I haven't tried it before. I started collecting the odd remedy I heard more commonly about ,to make up a kit at home. But then wasn't confident enough to use them or have the right one when I checked with my homeopathic book.Cuttlefish hmm should I even try it now as I don't take any vits with fishy things eg glucosamine or fish oil, they dont like me :-) I take MSM and Flaxseed oil instead. Thanks for your help and Ill search further but keep in mind your Sepia 30 for the next time I get sore.

hi All,

I should have explained myself more clearly. :-) I'm not, in any way, suggesting people use homeopathy instead of the Whole Woman way. I use it to help symptoms that aren't being helped, in that moment, by anything else.
I agree with granolamom that homeopathy would be a supplemental tool - not a core treatment.

kiwigirl cuttle'fish' is rather a misnomer because they are in the mollusc family like snails and octopi, not the fish family. I'm actually allergic to shellfish but am able to use this remedy because it works on, excuse how woo-woo and flaky this may sound, an 'energetic' or 'vibrational' level. :-)

Hi Salt,I understand what you are saying .I love the posture now and it is becoming easier and I find myself more and more upright, even noticied that the bump at bas of my neck is smoothing out!Although in some recent photos I have my chin tilted upwards, so I will watch that.
It's nice to have a few choices up my sleeve for when I have a painful patch, like I had earlie this year after blowing up some balloons! Had a terrible few days of discomfort and pain. I would like to use the Sepia for times like this - I dance and pillion on a motorbike a lot.
I think every bit of advice that has worked for another is helpful and we can each work out for ourselves what we try or do.It's all trial and error and learning, thanks again :-)
