problem with urinating

Body:

For some time now I have had some problems with urinating. It comes in a different stream and I have to strain sometimes. I am worried that maybe something else prolapsed?
I am just before my period, and as I mentioned before, I feel my parts swollen. Also this "spongy part of my vagina" appears much bigger. Maybe this is just normal and I have to wait for my period? Maybe it is again something to stay with and observe in relation to my cycle?
It worries me that maybe I have developed some another prolapse?
I don't have any incontinence, just this strange way of urinating (different stream and it does not come in one go...).
Also, my rectocele bulge appears bigger for at least two weeks...
Thank you,
Ivonush

Hi Ivonrush,
Sounds like your vaginal passage and symptoms feel a bit different recently and very understandably this has made you feel a bit anxious.
I think your idea of monitoring how things are to see if there is a pattern, possibly linked to your mentrual cycle is a very good idea. It may be that your vaginal passageway and vulve are a little more swollen prior to menstruation. If so, ths would be helpful to know so you know that that's a normal part of the cycle for you.
Also from what I've heard and experienced, prolapse symptoms can change for better and for worse for all sorts of reasons. For example, I know if I sit too long at my computer and don't do enough appropriate exercise and WW posture, then my symptoms get worse and when I do things like WW exercise, posture, swimming, walking, not sitting too long etc. then my prolapse gets worse. As I understand it prolapse symptoms can vary throughout the day.
Whatever is going on, it's good to know there are things you can do which have been tried and tested and will almost certainly help, whatever your symptoms. Things such as maintaining WW posture as much as possible, getting adequate WW exercise, contact with people and friends, sunlight, good diet which reduces/eliminates constipation, drinking warm water when you're thirsty, not straining on the loo - leaning forward and taking the weight off the toilet seat if possible....
Good luck - and if you do find a pattern related to prolapse symptoms and menstrual cycle, I'd be very interested to hear about it.
Best wishes, wholewomanuk

Yes, I got more anxious as it all seems as an unexpected set back. I ended my job contract (that was rather challenging) one week ago and I expected that I would feel just great. And I don't...
I was thinking today that when still at work, I used to walk there and back (around 20 minutes). But now I hardly walk. I am thinking of getting back to walking...
I think everything just changed since I am at home. Maybe I just need to adapt to this change...
The symptoms are bit different this time and somehow I cannot make it right...getting a bit impatient and despaired...
I just wish I will get my period soon, but I cannot predict it as before. :( I know it is close, as my breast is really tender...

... so start walking! Nice, long, unhurried strides. You have no trains to catch. This is a new stage for you. You can adapt.
