fistula?

Body:

I just realized that I'm peeing out of my vagina. I seem to have control over my bladder except when I try to stop peeing. I can see what looks like a hole. What can be done?

Mamabear, first of all, if you are trying to stop the flow of pee with a kegel-type contraction, I wouldn't. I've heard that is one way to get a UTI if you are prone to get those. Maybe so, maybe not, but this isn't good for prolapse either, contrary to what many "experts" say. I don't know what you're seeing, but a fistula would probably involve more serious symptoms. I'm no fan of doctors, but maybe you need to visit one just to rule that out, so that you can quit worrying. - Surviving

Hi Mamabear,

What you are probably seeing is the urethral opening, which migrates inside the vagina in many of us with prolapse. Be brave and take a closer look - highly likely it's your urethra.

I'm having a hard time knowing what I"m looking at and all the pictures that come up on google are so small, I still can't tell, but I'm sure you are right Christine. I found pictures that described the fistula that looked like me but the symptoms didn't line up at all. We confirmed that I'm pregnant today...so I want to use this time the best I can to prepare for the birth. I'm not exactly sure where to start. Last week I made it a goal to not sit around all morning and to squat instead if I must "sit" and use the toilet in a squatting position. I'm flexible enough to squat comfortably but I still have a way to got to get the pelvis out of the tucked position. I"m working with my foot posture and letting my belly out, I didn't realize I was a belly sucker, but I do hold the top of my belly in. working on calf stretches a litlte, as just standing up until noon caused me to be really sore!

I also have a 3.75" diastasis that I think is contributing to my chronic constipation. I've been working to heal naturally for the past 6 months through eating nourishing foods, but so far not much change in the digestion, which lead me to believe it probably has more to do with the "core" issues I'm having.
