Surgery scheduled for cyctocele....

Body:

I'm not sure what ppl are talking about as far as a book & video. Is this a website to sell something? I am looking for some help not a sales pitch. Sorry if that sounded bad but just got back from the colorectal surgeon who believes i now have rectocele. I have surgery scheduled for May 25th for my cystocele which I am having 2nd thought about. See last May I had a hysterectomy, I've had endeometriosis forever and been having back and abdominal and leg pain, gyno said he would do a lapraoscopy and if necessary a hysterectomy. I asked if he had to do it I wanted it done abdominally, not vaginally, he agreed... but he did it vaginally anyway. Anyway, this did not solve much of my pain, in Oct. I went to my regular doctor and insisted he send me for an MRI &/or CAT scan, he did and they found a tumor on my spine. Went to the neurosurgeon, had surgery 1/5/06, removed tumor at L5. Surgeon said while he was waiting for pathology to come back to him he was looking around and saw something suspicious at S2. I was sent for another MRI, & another tumor was found. Went for surgery 3/6/06, had a tumor removed at S2 & S4, he had to cut my nerve at S2 to get the tumor out which left me numb on my bottom, it has gotten better but will probably alway be somewhat numb. He couldn't get all of the tumor at S4 so I had to go for stereotatic radio surgery twice a week for two weeks (over 2 hours from home), just finished last thursday. Anyway, since the last surgery my bladder fell; I went back to my gyno and he said I needed surgery, which is scheuled for May 25th. Also after surgery I've been unable to move my bowels unless I use a stool softener or laxative. I went to the gastroenterologist, he gave me propolene gycol powder 2 times a day and sent me to the colorectal surgeon, as I left the doctor today all I could do is cry, he said the bladder thing and the bowel thing couldn't be done at the same time. I've had 3 surgeries in less than a year and feel no better, just more problems. To make things worse, when I had the second spine surgery, they had a drain in my back to drain spinal fluid and had me lay flat for 48 hrs, & removed the drain then lay flat for 6 hours. I told the nurse that night I felt wet on my gown, she did nothing the doctors came in the next day and said it was dry and I could go home. Went home, my sister in law brought over dinner and after dinner I could feel my back was wet so I had to go to the emergency room (hospital was over an hour away from home) and was re-admitted and the drain was put back in and I had to lay flat for 7 days. I'm sorry for rambling but I am at my wits end, I don't know what to do or who to believe. I've gone from someone that always took her vitamins, drank water, bought organic as much as possible to drinking propolene glycol, taking neurotin 3 times a day and percocet for pain more than I probably should though not every day. If anyone can offer any suggestions... I know I have a weird medical history here and not many ppl out there can relate to being numb. My gyno says the numbness has probably caused my muscles to be weak, the colorectal surgeon said no, one should have nothing to do with the other... both men, who is right? Thank you to anyone who can stand reading so much.... :)

Hi JJ,

I’m very sorry to hear your story. Yes, this is a website selling something – a way to live well with cystocele and other forms of prolapse. Unfortunately, we’ve learned this is only doable if one has all her pelvic organs and is willing to make the effort to reestablish the natural shape of the female spine and pelvis throughout the working day. I wish you all the best and a full recovery.

Wishing you well,

Christine

So if someone has had a hysterectomy & spine surgery this is not a helpful site?

I would love it if the work could affect post-hysterectomy prolapse, but so far the data has not been encouraging. Everyone can benefit from this posture, JJ. There are just serious doubts that it will affect your cystocele/rectocele to any extent.

I am not sure about your case though Christine will no doubt help you

I know you seem to think this site will just try the hard sell on you (I thought that too) And I am HAPPY to tell you - I came here last August - I have had much muchhhhhhhhhhhh help - And when I got here I was told I had a grade2 prolapse - Now I am told I have a grade1 :)

All helped through this site - And NO I have not purchased even a pencil :)

So - The book and that may help you but the real point of this site is for women to be empowered - Not just to make money (This is in my opinion anyways)

I am not sure how things work after Hysterectomy - But would like to wish you the best anyways

Sincerely

Sue

guess its for women who have not have had a hysterectomy.... if I knew of these spine tumors I definately would have had that done before letting the hysterectomy happen.... I wasn't prepared for any of this. thank you anyway.

What a terrible situation. I hope you do fine relief. Unforutnately, it's further proof of how important the uterus is to keeping all the other pelvic organs in place.
