Doctors Visit

Body:

Hi, and I am sorry,I posted to the wrong forum Tuesday. This is Judy again and I saw my doctor today and he says that I don't have a prolapse again but instead what is called an elongated cervix and that when he did my surgery he didn't want to pull everything up too tight. He examined me and says he thinks everything will be o.k. but I am still speculating. I can see my cervix right at the entrance to my vagina but only in the last few days, and I am about three and a half weeks after surgery. Why wouldn't it have been that way from day one after surgery and believe me I looked and there wasn't anything there. He says just live with it or he can actually amputate part of my cervix and I won't feel or see it anymore, well isn't that just great-----hmmmmmmmm. I don't want anymore surgery especially when the word AMPUTATION is part of the surgery. Has anyone heard of this and is this a new prolapse and he just doesn't want to admit it? Oh, yes, I am a healthy 55 yr. old with no problems other than the prolapse. I am of normal weight and only have a little pain---normal urinating and bowel movements have returned. I just can't see my cervix being THAT LONG.Thanks, Judy.

hi, i think i have a prolapse and am going to docs for the first time tommorrow to see what she says, so i thought i,d check stuff out on the net first and my god i cant belive how much stuff there is on here. i'm gutted cos im only 30 and not yet with a long term partner and its really affecting me in a bad way as ive never had any health problems before. any one got any advice ?

Well, I am 55 and my prolapse started at 50 but I was so silly to think it would go away on its own. Then when I started reading up on it I realized it would only get worse. I had surgery almost 4 weeks ago and now my cervix is fairly low down in my vagina. I saw the doctor yesterday and he really didn't give me any answers as to why this has happened. But, as far as, you I would read everything I could on Prolapse and not make any rash decisions. Don't have surgery if you aren't sure about exactly what the doctor is going to do and not even then if you don't want to. I'm not sure about the natural things you can do or if they work, this site probably has some women who know a lot about the natural approach. I hope things go well for you----sincerely----Judy.
