I didn't see your original post yet. I am happy you are feeling more positive today. Remember that there will be ups and downs emotionally, especially at the beginning as you come to grips with this reality. I had really good days at the beginning and I had unrealistic expectations so when things felt worse again I took it really hard. I've come to realize that there will be ups and downs in terms of how I feel and I have to celebrate during the good times and take more care of myself during the bad times. It was very hard for me to accept that I can't do what I used to. I used to be very independent and busy. I have had to ask for a lot of help and SLOW down. I am starting to accept this more but it took many months in my case. I hope you continue to find support and comfort through this site. It is so nice to relate to others. Hugs!

It does take time.. I'm months into it and still really struggling with down days and feeling a bit grossed out. BUT the good days are getting more frequent, and I could be imagining it but my bad days are often physically less severe. I noticed you were worried about getting a boyfriend and 'explaining' I'm fairly confident if you have a mild prolapse you won't even have to. My husband said he wouldn't have noticied anything different at all. On the eating thing all I'd say is don't get constipated or strain.. having a lighter bowel in general seems to make things feel better down there with less pressure. The other ladies here have more advanced ideas about eating which you can find out about by looking at the food forum, but for the meantime I stick with lots of fruit and veg and drinking lots of water.

Hope you're still feeling good.

hi again, can some one tell me if the feeling of cramp is normal and comes with the prolapse cos my lower belly is really tender hard and swollen and uncomfortable. it almost feels pregnant but im not and theres a lot of bubbling in there too.god it feels weird is this normal? i also want to know if excersize is ok. my daughter does disco dancing and i get up and go through routines with her and im on the mams team so can i still do this heavy excersise or do i have to tone down a bit ? what do people do if they have got a bad cough cos when i cough a little bit i can feel it popping out so god help anyone that gets a really bad cough how do people cope?

Hi,
If you bend over at the waist when you cough or sneeze that will help relieve the pressure on the prolapse. There are a few posts about coughing in the Pelvic Health Forum. They are on Page 2 near the bottom.
It sounds like you have a bad case of gas try to relax. If it persists get your doctor to check it out. I know when I get upset and try to do too much I get a bad case of gas and your symptoms sound similar.
I don't know about the exercizes some one else will have to answer that question.
Hope this helps.
Regards FLora.

I believe Christine's opinion on exercise is to do it while holding the posture and listen to your body, it will tell you if it does not feel right ????

I think it sounds like gas and I don't know if that is symptomatic of a rectocele or not. I know sometimes if I eat foods that produce it, I am more sensitive to the sensations of gas because of it.
